Such a warm day matched only by the welcome. Whilst this clashed with a bigger, more commerical 10k not too far away, it was great that this was so supported by local clubs and runners.
The race centre is the Rugby Club where you collect your number, and then get tempted by some delicious cakes and snacks which have to wait for after the race. The start area is located on the fields and the first section involves a loop of the field. Then, you head out to the main road for a gradual upwards section before taking a left and taking a longer, gradual uphill section on trail. This eventually takes you through to a housing estate where you wind your way back (finding a downhill part too!) to about 4km and then turn to head back. This is another upwards section but it seems worse as aside from the fact you know you have to do it again on the second lap, on the first lap it takes you to where you originally joined the road and then there's some more before you hit the trails!
What can I say about the race as an event. Very friendly team from Horsham Joggers who put this on, lots of marshals offering encouragement and though it is a small race, even some of the locals are out cheering. You get to run in a lovely setting and the upwards sections are totally worth it. Very tidy bespoke medal at the end too and excellent value for money!
Oh yes, and the cake was delicious!

Fantastic sunny day today and a great, really well organised event. Limited to 500 runners but felt bigger as there were so many marshalls and pace runners.
Really friendly, helpful volunteers and marshalls made it a really enjoyable experience. Run starts at the rugby club with lots of free parking (though worth arriving early as it was pretty busy.) Quite an undulating course with one fairly long (but not very steep hill) that is tackled twice as the course is two laps.
First time for me today but definitely won't be the last!
