My first Olympic/Standard distance triathlon, and my first open water swimming event. The race briefing was very good and explaining everything. The marshals were very helpful in guiding my in setup and during transitions. The event was very well organised. Maybe a few more portaloos but isn't that always the case?! My only complaint was the velcro on the ankle chip was poor, despite readjusting it someone knocked it off in the swim, but luckily caught it and returned it to me (afterwards, people said put it under the wetsuit, or safety pin it on). Start of the swim was a big confusing, and a long wait for everyone to get in - maybe 2 waves? (fast and then everyone else a few minutes behind?), but otherwise all good. Cycle, it wasn't closed roads, so of the marshals were very active in helping, spotting and guiding traffic, others were not paying attention, but it was quiet so all okay. The run was all straight forward, and fun going past spectators on the laps. Overall great fun, enjoyed it, will do it again (hopefully faster next year!).

This is the second time I have done this event and it gets better each year. The lake swim is two laps with big coloured buoys to help with sighting. The bike leg has some decent uphills but what goes up.... goes down fast. The run leg is undulating but nice to be a looped course so your family and friends can cheer you on multiple times. ATW are really well organised and the welcome at registration is so friendly.

This is usually my first triathlon of each year, always feels like a family event, great atmosphere and frandly faces all over the place! Well marshaled, challenging course but at the same timw ideal for evey level athlete, 3 distances super sprint/ sprint and standard gives enough coverage for everyone! This event keeps growing with every year and that's amazing. What I would recommend for every race venue is to promote with some boards a week ahead to encourage local people to come and support their athletes. Most people don't know what is happening or about to happen in their vicinity. Thank you for another brilliant and well organised event!

My wife and I completed our first ever triathlon and we absolutely loved it! Everyone was super friendly and supportive which was exactly what we needed to get us through! I would recommend this race to everyone! And hopefully we will see you all there next time!
