I've run this every year since the start. We expected parking issues when it started out, not at an established race. It shouldn't take 90mins to leave the car park, unacceptable. I won't be doing this race again unless they confirm they fix it (really simple to do, there was no traffic management in place until far too late). That aside, as always, it was a good race itself, well sign posted, good team. Small issue when the half merges with the 10k. The need to hold the 10k back another 15-20mins, because us faster half runners hit a wall of moving roadblocks to run around. Shame there is no t-shirt, and the food at the end wasn't as great as previous years.

The traffic management was terrible. This was my first visit to Knebworth and I was surprised to see only way in and out. Took over an hour to get in once I’d actually arrived. The Marshalls were great and the course was enjoyable. However, due to the very poor logistics I won’t be back.

Despite arriving early and allowing well over an hour slippage time, the horrendous queues (and selfish driving of many participants - we were all trying to get to the same event) meant that I missed the start and went off 20 minutes late, and without warning up. 75 minutes queuing to get in to a venue is unacceptable. The race started with loads more cars arriving and at times I had to run towards them sharing the same narrow lane. I felt so sorry for the volunteers, who are only doing their best and giving up their time for us all, and I hope didn't get any abuse. The exit wasn't much better. Starting late meant that the race was very congested when catching the other runners and I felt sorry for slower runners too. It must be demoralising for some having some very fast (not me) runners flying past. The poor organising was compounded when I got my result - they clearly turned off the timing mat 18 minutes before I started so I didn't get a correct chip time. And there were loads of half marathon runners arriving after me. What a waste of money / effort. I won't be taking part in another Run Through event sadly. It's a real shame as the course was nice, well marshalled, well signed and with some entertainment.

I must say the organisation was terrible. From the junction on the A1 to the parking area it took me over 1 hr, which means I barely had time to go toilet (also very poor indications), prepare myself and get late at the starting line without warming up. I finished in 1:46 but started with the 2:10 group and it was jammed so I lost some time in the first 3 km. Also, the 10k late finishers grouped with the HM around our 16th-17th km and slowed us down. Regarding the route, some long hills but I expected it to be worse. All on tarmac with barely any dirt, all throughout amazing sights of North Herts. Gianpaolo - 5259

I enjoyed the course. It was quite challenging with several longish hills. The logistics were a nightmare though. I arrived at junction 7 on A1M at 7.45 and didn’t park until 9.10 so missed the start. I basically ran by myself for the first 5 miles. I was disappointed the organisers didn’t delay the start of the Half like they did the 10k , as there must have been hundreds of late arrivals. They need to think about improving the parking for next year, or reduce the number of runners

Very poorly organised - it took 45 minutes to park, despite arriving well in advance of the race. Almost missed the start by the time I'd walked from the car park to the start line. The race started while people were still trying to get to the car park, which meant we had to run around their stationary cars. Can't imagine how frustrated the runners stuck inside the cars were!! Terrible sustainability credentials too - plastic bottles everywhere , everything disposable. With so many races plastic free these days, there's no need for all that. The only saving gave was that it's a very scenic course - lovely route.

The WORST organisation I have ever experienced. We were waiting over 45 minutes to get into the event despite arriving before 8am. The run was good though. However, on the exit it took us over 2 HOURS TO GET OUT!!! This is really bad organisation of a run and really poor thoughts on sustainability when we are all sitting with thousands of running engines for hours and impact on wildlife. I would never do this run again due to poor organisation. Very DISAPPOINTED.

I think I've run all of the herts halfs so far. As usual, a very well organised event, good course, but it is a hard one. It's always fun running events from "venues" like knebworth house. Would run this again as it's a good local event (but don't think I'd go out of my way if I had to travel too far). Very friendly atmosphere, good race.

I havev run postoponed half marathon wich is usualy held in November. The date transfered to Jun made it very plesent experience. Beautiful setting for start and finish made it unforgeteble experience. Planty parking spaces. Lovely day out for the family and the dog. The route itself was also very scenic. All roads are free from traffic and you can enjoy the run. Few hills along the way made it challanging in places, however it is not something which should put you off. If the it will fit to my training I would deffinitaly consider running again.

Fantastic event and brilliantly organised. A lovely unique and memorable venue. Outstanding finish line with tons of goody's. Best I've ever seen at an event. Lovely medal. Beautiful country lane course on closed roads. Well worth the 240 mile round trip! 
 

If the organisers are reading I have some very light tough recommendations that would make it 100/100. And they may be well aware of these suggestions and there are good reasons why not: 

 

1) start the 10km before the half marathon. As one of the leading half marathon runners it was tricky for all having to run through the 10km runners for the last 2 miles. 
 

2) water bottles at aid stations seem wasteful and tone deaf as most events move towards less plastic and during cop26

 

3) it would be great to use a photography service like pic2go to make it much easier to find your own photos. Appreciate the free photography posted on the day! 
 

4) perhaps more catering? The venue cafe was overrun at times and all indoors which my relative who is very vulnerable felt uncomfortable using. 
 

all in all a brilliant event and I couldn't recommend it more.
