This is a nice 10k route around the lanes near Cross-in-Hand . There’s a plesent enough mix of hills, with none being particularly scary, though the last up does go on for a while. Parking is good. Chip timing would be nice for this one, considering the amount of runners it attracts. Good value for money. 

This is a small local race with a field of about 300, who are in the majority club runners as this race forms part of the Sussex Grand Prix.

Registration is easy, you just pick up your number on the day and off you go! Plenty of parking available on site so no need to turn up too early, and a pavilion with bar and plenty of cake on sale too!

The route is fairly hard going; narrow, tree-covered country lanes, very undulating for the first 3-4 miles, and the last 2 miles are uphill all the way back for a lap around the field at the finish. It's well marshalled, and although the roads aren't closed traffic is minimal (I think I encountered about 5 cars max on the whole route).

There was only one water station on the course, at about 6km, which I thought was pretty low considering the warm time of year and the hills on the course; cups too, not bottles.

The course is not chip timed, gun time only.

Overall I'd say it's a pleasantly challenging race to run if you live locally, I wouldn't necessarily travel far to take part. It's not particularly scenic, there's no crowd support, but it's a well priced locally organised race, so you can undestand the lack of chip timing and aid stations.

Even though there plenty of parking arrive early as it's a very popular event. Instructions and information is given over a tannoy, which is nice. The race itself starts comfortably and has plenty of downhill. Unfortunately what goes down has to come up, so hold plenty back for the last 2k. The water station is at 6k, which is pretty perfect. The bling isn't that flashy, but what would you expect for the very reasonable entry fee?  Don't make the same mistake as me and not bring any cash, as there's plenty of cake to purchase at the end. 

All in all a very nice event.
