I really enjoyed doing this race, I liked that is started/finished on the high street and it had a great atmosphere. Will definitely do it again.

It was well signposted and good to be able to see the runners ahead of you coming back to the finish line as it gave you something to work towards. Will definiltye do it again.

A simple out and back from Guildford to Clandon on closed roads which makes for a unique experience in the area. Lots of scope for supporters to cheer, plenty of free parking, great public transport and friendly aid stations.

I didn't end up competing as I injured my foot, but my eldest son competed.  We live in the town centre so we were all really excited at the prospect of the race starting right on the high street.  As a spectator the event was run brilliantly and very well organised.  I watched it with my grandson who said "I want to run in a race like Daddy!"  Looking forward to next years race!

As a first for Guildford, this was a pretty amazing 10k, and having it as a local race for me made it extra special.

I will definitely be doing it again.

Another great event from AAT

First event as a Racecheck Visor Club member, loved this event, well organised, great atmosphere and liked the early start 8am. Couple of hills but mainly flat, liked starting and finishing in the High Street.

Organised by local Surrey outfit All About Tri, the inaugural Guildford 10K was an out and back course, run entirely on closed roads starting and finishing in Guildford town centre.

For debut race, the Guildford 10K proved popular with several thousand runners rising for the exceptionally early - for an Autumn race - start of 8:00 in the morning.

Despite the crack of dawn hour, the High Street had a real pre race buzz to it with a few marquees and pre race photo shoots going on to provide a good distraction. Bag drop was situated in the Guildhall and was quick and simple enough.

Runners were split into three teams, turquoise, pink or orange which you chose before the race and were allocated a coloured buff depending on your allegiance. Race numbers and buffs were collected the day before the race at a local gym.

The route was a straight out and back run, undulating on roads and a little uninspiring but there was a DJ about a third of the way in. There was an aid station at the 5K mark distributing water in cups. Local crowd support was scattered but evident and mostly in the centre near the race start/finish area.

At £30.00 with Racecheck discount, this is expensive for a 10K and the course was a dull affair. Being the first race, this might improve in future years.

The medal is decent though and the goody bag gave the appearance of a Champneys gift bag.

I was the sub - 45 minute pacer along with Michael for the inaugural Guildford 10k. Communication was great especially the pre-race information. The race village was in the high street which was as discussed. This was an early start ( 8 am) due to Council restrictions.  There was a queue for the toilets, if I could suggest having urinals alongside portaloos this would free up portaloos which happens at other events.

As a pacer for this event I was given a bright vest which is hard to distinguish from other runners who want to keep you in their sights. A flag is an option you should consider for next year.

Due to the early start support was lacking and places to have coffee etc but hopefully with a later start this can be rectified

The course is undulating, out and back but has definite PB potential with a fast finish.
The KM markers were way out but my Michael and myself informed our group we were still on track for sub - 45 mins.

Bag queues at the end which will be resolved with better planning.

Overall a great inaugural event which I can see getting bigger and better and would enjoy pacing again.
