Great value for money; chip timed, self navigated and easy to follow way markers, technically challenging with just under 6000ft elevation.
The route was linear with transportation to the start where we all made our way to the station car park to receive our pre race briefing. The only issue was the toilets were not working appropriately however, this comes under the local authority and needed servicing beforehand.
Appropriate medical support which seemed of high standard (from my observations on others with injuries/issues).
There was some food at the end (included) I didn't have any. On completion we received a fantastically designed beautiful medal. This is my favourite medal to date, it will be hard to beat this bling!

Heard about this race through local chat and it always sells out very quickly. I managed to get a last minute place 3 days before the event due to a few withdrawals. Registration was simple and quick. Race briefing information recieved by email almost immediately.
This race is about 98% trail, self navigation, following the Gritstone Trail signposts along a 35 mile route from Kidsgrove (via Mow Cop, Tegg's Nose, White Nancy, Lyme Park) to Disley Community Centre. A total of about 5600 feet of elevation gain.
It is easy to navigate without a map but there was a couple of places in which the provided map came in useful when the Gritstone signpost was only marked as a public footpath.
Quality of aid stations (x3 every 9.5 miles) was very good giving typical ultra foods and drinks. These were also timing chip checkpoints. In addition to these checkpoints you were required to self check your tag at 3 other places which were clearly marked. Locals had come along to these points and provided additional refreshments and reminded us to self check!
The views were stunning! I can not emphasise this enough. The whole route was just amazing to look at. There were a couple of fairly quiet roads to cross but apart from that, the rest was through woodlands, parkways, fields, hills, and every other type of trail you could imagine. Nothing technical though. It was muddy so good shoe grip is required.
At the end of the race, you were provided with as much food and drink as you wanted. I opted for Cornish pasty and coffee.
The race cost was £21 and you got full race support, chip timed, aid stations, post race food and drink and a finishers certificate. No medal or tee option avaialble.
This is by far the most scenic race I have ever done. I loved it!
