Inclusiveness. I think the event and course this year was "hard" and would exclude a lot of participants who aren't really very experienced gravel riders and or extremely fit. Fine for the top boys and girls, but there was very high attrition between day1 and day2, including some of our group. Is this intended to be a top end only event, or also suitable for the average rider with average fitness? On day1 one of our group got a puncture early on which then put her at the back of the race. Once it was fixed she was still making progress at a reasonable pace, with plenty of time to finish. The sweeper insisted on riding with her for the whole of the rest of the race, which really wasn't necessary since there was plenty of time still to finish, the weather was fine, there was plenty of daylight and we were warm and well provisioned. This created enough pressure that she felt like she would not enter day 2, and will not enter again.

Brilliant event, I really enjoyed exploring the routes that took us off round tracks which are normally off limits. Snacks and feed stations were well stocked and good quality. Evening entertainment was excellent (watch out for the midges). Highly recommended!
