This is a very well organised race. The Marshalls were great and the wave starts clear. There were a lot of slower runners in the faster orange wave which meant some weaving for me personally. The public support and entertainment along the whole route was fantastic. The only real negative is the medal. By far the worst in my collection and like something out of a cracker! For such a big race I expected something better. Likewise the finishers t shirt this year was very underwhelming. In summary though a fantastic race and experience

Good half marathon. Well organised. Course felt a little bit dull for a city centre race - the Manchester Half route is much better. As with a number of Great Run events (excluding the GNR) the medal felt a little bit dull and had a cheap ribbon.

This is my second year in a row taking part in the half marathon distance. Great event overall, lots of build up to the big day and event information is communicated well in advance. My biggest issue with the course route is that it is advertised as "flat". It is NOT a flat course for the half marathon - rolling hills for the first 13k or so. Apart from that, the event is run smoothly and the medal and t-shirt is always stunning. It was my first half marathon and I would recommend to others - just be sure to add hill training into your race practice! Support is brilliant from the 13k mark also, but support is notably quieter at the start of the race until you join the 10k route at the end near Old Trafford.

Well organised with one major flaw. On the 10k there was no water left at 2k when I arrived (purple group , overall time 1hour 9 mins). I was told there would be water at the next water stop so I mentally prepared to run another 2 k without water . Wrong. No water at 4 k either. My mouth was really parched. Finally got some further on at ?6k. On a hot and very humid day this felt like bad organisation. There was plenty of water at the finish, but that is not the best place.

lack of toilets at the start. waited in a queue for 30 mins, race was getting close (5 mins to go) so had to give up and pee in the street. Really poor and not good enough. No signage or people around to help.

Far too busy. Couldn’t run properly due to the volume of people and also the number of people walking. Made it very difficult to get into a rhythm as constantly having to dodge people. Also idiot spectators crossing runners paths and Deliveroo bikes.
