I booked through the Racecheck website almost two months before the event and received my receipt straight away, but received no information at all about the event from the organisers until I chased them for it 2 days before it happened!

Having missed the sign to find the parking at Penshurst Place (they only seemed to think people would be approaching from one directly, parking itself was very expensive (£10!) to park in a dark field.

Standard entrants were provided with a t-shirt, pack of powdered paint and a glow stick which I was happy with, but the rubber medal at the end was a bit of a let down.

The course itself had some really fun areas and the start was very enthusiastic, but there were large gaps in between where there was just darkness, and the ground was dangerous in places, steep and very muddy - perhaps the event would be better held during warmer months, as entrants were absolutely freezing and left straight afterwards, making the after-party a non-event.

The staff at the event were very friendly and lively, and tried to help, but some didn't seem to know which entrants should be given which packs and couldn't find the correct sized t-shirts when asked.

I'm glad I gave this type of event a go, but wouldn't rush back to do this one.

This was the first time for my daughter and I.  I thought the whole event was well organised and fantastic fun!!  We will be doing it again next year and stepping up to the 5k.  Thank you for a fun night.

When we arrived the parking was well sign posted and very well organised, the registration process was easy although they didn’t scan the QR code or look at the email which I would have thought they would have considering it was dark so they had an idea of who was there. The atmosphere was great with the DJ which seemed good. When asking where the toilets and other facilities were the marshals were not helpful at all. Throughout the race the course was very muddy in places especially going up the big hill with no marshals around in the event of an emergency. The obstacles that were described before the event weren’t great there was only really the foam pit with the others only being tunnels of lights and music which were very far apart. The track itself wasn’t very clear with markers with small glow sticks being used to mark the track out. So the route wasn’t clear at all. Overall it was disappointing as I have completed the Run or Dye in the day Time and really enjoyed it.

The registration was good, the signing in and parking were all brilliant and the helpers were super friendly.  The course was very muddy and slippery in parts and perhaps a bit more hay could have been put down. The zones were not quite as big or as fun as advertised but it didn't matter the whole thing was fun. The only thing I felt annoyed by was £4 for a hot chocolate - so £16 for four drinks is excessive.  Especially when buying 4 before the race and four afterwards. Unless a portion of that money was going to charity - but it was not advertised as being so.

This race sounded like a blast but the actual event was a bit of a let down. The disco zones were tiny and spaced far apart. This is an event for a summer evening, not mid October, as everyone was freezing at the end of it and no-one stayed for the post race disco. This would be a really good race if they made more of the disco side of it.. there was far too much running in the dark and not enough partying for my liking.

There being a cash charge for the bag drop, really slowed this line down, so much so that we got to the start line late. Maybe add this to pre-booking facility, or make it free.

It was a shame that there was 2 way traffic leading up to the Foam zone as this made the mud really bad in this area.  Not sure if anyone was injured, but wouldn't be suprised.

The course it's self was well marshalled & easy to follow.  There were staggered starts which helped with the flow of traffic.  They could have let a even less go each time as still found that we were walking a fair amount due to volume of people trying to avoid the mud.

The Zones themselves were fun & something to break up the run.  The vibe on the day was fun & energetic.

At the end, it was nice to have the food stalls.  Probably would have got more people staying for the disco if it was undercover.  It was cold, everyone was wet from the foam - so guess people just wanted to get home.

Thanks for a great experience, would do this again!

So where to do I begin. As something marketed as a fun run this was certainly not!!

The course was atrocious, and in my opinion dangerous. I can not believe that anyone walked the course or competed any sort of assement prior to the race.

This was not enjoyable, slipping in mud and having to watch every step in daylight is one thing , in the dark  is quite something else.

This then brings me on to the quality of the torches .. what a joke !! My friends had purchased these before the event , for the staff not to be able to find them and fumble around and grab a couple from good knows where. The output was so bad people where uses there phones to try and navigate through the mud.

In short you failed in your duty of care to provide a safe running environment for all those running.. & it was all about making money.

Really disappointing. The event details made it look like we would be moving from one zone to the next but actually there was very little going on, other than a bit of foam and mostly running through incredibly muddy woods that were dangerously slippy.

When we arrived there were only x-small or XL t-shirts, again, such poor organisation.

Running around there were barely any stewards and the course was at times, guess work.

In comparison to events like RunReigate it was a huge let down. Overall it was  underwhelming, disappointing coupled with misleading advertising.

Suffered a bit from an identity crisis as stuff was borrowed from VO Two Events and so had Glow in the Park on them!! Need to address t-shirts. A very small size or large sack sizes, so missed out most people's size. Suggests that they were using them up from previous events. Medals were leftovers from Glow in the Park and branded as that.

However, sort those issues and it could be great! It was decent though as I said at the beginning!

I’ll start by saying I was gifted my VIP place so would like to be fair and honest.

The pictures on the website are akin to the pictures I took on the night but it did feel very ‘instagram vs reality’ the pictures show the highlights, but the best of a a slightly underwhelming event.

The registration around parking was not clear in my opinion, it states all participants needed to pay carparking but VIPs had a parking permit, should I still pay? Do I pay per person in the car? It really wasn’t that clear. Also though asking people who had paid race entry to then stump up another £10 to park a car in a field was a bit much.

I agree with others about the T-shirt sizes they didn’t have much left when I arrived but luckily I’m small so they had stuff for me!

The staff were really lovely, very energetic, enthusiastic, smiley and chatty. Couldn’t have asked for a more cheerful bunch.

I didn’t use the bag drop, but £2 to leave it in a small gazebo again seemed a bit much.

The start area was lively, great atmosphere, I liked the use of what looked like a leaf blower to spray the paint dust over everyone and other staff launching it in! But it feltafter this the atmosphere fell a little flat. The route was pretty muddy, but to be honest it’s been raining cats and dogs recently and it’s in a field so can’t really complain about that. I’m quite partial to a bit of mud!!

The foam station was brilliant fun, waist high foam party, music blaring and lights going, this was the most fun part. To be honest the run was very pretty after this with all the little headtorches bobbing around and lights around the course but the other ‘zones’ weren’t that inspiring. The ‘heat zone’ was a little underwhelming.

I felt sorry for the guy in stage at the end. There was no party atmosphere and we had a lot of dye left as expected to use it here. Instead we had a ‘dye fight’ infront of the stage amongst ourselves and we’re suitably covered. So much so it took 4 washes to get in all out my hair! Haha! But we made the most of the extra dye packs in our VIP bundle.

I can’t say it’s a race I’ll hurry back to do to be honest. But could be one to enjoy as a family, but perhaps could be a bit earlier in the evening to cater for this market!
