This was my first 5k so I have nothing to compare to but I will say the Gaslamp run made a great first impression. I was able to pick up my shirt/bib in advance, the course was easy, there was water and snacks after, plus a beer garden! The medal we got for finishing is so awesom...

Ran the 10K, one aid station, packed most the times I ran by. Slower ppl walking on the path, had to run around them. Very good race for beginners, friendly environment. Still no response about my results, had registered for 10K and for some reason my results shows one the 5K...

Gaslamp Run was my first-ever race — ran it three years ago. Yesterday I was back at it! Two laps of 5K through the historic heart of San Diego — such a rad adventure. Crushed my old time by 3 minutes and 9 seconds and scored 3rd place in my age group. Straight-up joy overload! The first time there was more food. A cold beer awaits you at the end of the route. And all along the route you are in the historic center of San Diego.

The course was a nice and flat lapped course. The beginning was a bit bottlenecked due to the shared road and the shared start of the 5k and 10k. Personally I raced the 5k and I think the course was very suitable for that. There was an aid station about 1.6 miles in where you could get a small cup of water if you chose. The medal was pretty but the shirt was not something I would personally wear. Overall the course itself was quite nice and after the beginning it was quite spread out.
