I was a pacer for this event running 2hr 15 minutes pace. The course is two laps along the sea front and then looping back along the footpath, the path was slightly uneven in places and a young lady in front of me tripped and cut her knee. It is a very flat and fast course although due to the location it can be, and was, very windy and you need to watch for sand blowing about. Most spectators gather around the start and the section towards the leisure centre and lake. A whopper of a medal from FCR and well organised as ever.

I had the opportunity to pace this race (2.15) alongside another racecheck visorclub member. I have run a number of FCR races before and this one was just as good as the rest.
Registration was simple in the morning, picked up race packs and pacer tshirts, route was a couple of laps down the coastline and back up the road. It was a tough day to run, the second time down the coastline the winds got up to around 40 miles an hour! Thankfully the coast road was sufficiently sheltered from the winds.
Short grass finish at the end and a lovely medal to take home. Was tough with the wind but had fun running with the 2.15 group.

It was hammering down with rain on my way to Fleetwood. It stopped before the race thankfully. the wind didnt though but thats expected on the coast i suppose. Parking was easy. It was a lap around race. There was some confusion regarding the course with some runners goin the wrong way causing them to do an extra 2 miles. I was near the back so thankfully it never affected me. Not much support on the course from the general public but it was a nice event to do and a lovely medal as well.
The problem on the course meant that we get a free entry into next years race which was a nice touch. Another FCR event. Well done

Just shy of around 400 runners this year for another great value FCR event.
The event itself did have some problems, which impacted a number of the front runners due to a sign which was explained as having been blown away by the wind or knocked down, sending some off in the wrong direction.
Fortunately I was not affected as it was rectified by the time I got to that point, but I understand some either came in short or ran extra miles.
FCR were fantastic on the day though and explained the error over the PA to everyone. You could see how genuinely gutted they were that this had happened, and made a fantastic gesture in assuring everyone they would receive an email the next day explaining the situation once they'd had the race debrief, and a promise of free entry to all for next years race.
Registration was easy with quick number pick up on the day.
There is a small car park at the start/finish of the event with two further car parks within easy walking distance and plenty of street parking available.
The course is a flat one with huge PB potential. I've been struggling to break the Sub 2hr barrier, but managed to knock nearly 5 mins from my previous PB, so was made up with my time.
Four water stations which were well stocked.
A great medal, Freddo and another bottle of water at the finish line.
There was an option to buy an event T Shirt if you wanted.
This was my second run at an FCR event and I'll definitely continue to support their events.

This was 2nd time I have done this race having completed it in 2016.
Can't speak highly enough of Fylde Coast running events.
This was no exception.
Registration, race briefing and number collection were all 1st class.
There was a great atmosphere in and around race HQ with merch stalls, food outlets and pre-race massge options available.
Race itself was a fast, flat, partial looped run with with bags of potential for PB chasers out there.
Support from marshals and Fleetwood public was fantastic.
Water stations were plentyfull with bottled water option. Gels weren't on offer but I don't think they are needed for half marathons.
Finish line was at was at HQ. The guy on P.A welcoming home the runners was very entertaing and quick witted.
It added to what was an already great atmosphere.
Finishers were rewarded with a top class medal, chocolate, water and bananna.
Entry fee was very low at £18 (affiliated).
Great value for such a top event.
Post race massage was available at £10. I took up the option. It was worth every penny because they did a brilliant job.
In summary, this was a typical Flyde Coast Race - well organised, friendly and great value.
