It was dangerous passing going up the first hill because you had to go into the road due to riders riding 2-3 wide and it was open to traffic. Award ceremony was long and disorganized.

One or two staff/volunteers were very friendly, otherwise it was hard to find people to ask questions about logistics. The announcer on Sunday was not at all kind prior to the event. The 5-7 am time period and just before race time is a period of high anxiety for many participants. It is very important and helpful to continue to repeat logistics, however the announcer’s attitude toward individuals arriving, finding their way, and getting settled was curt and extremely unsupportive. As a newer participant I thought maybe it was just me feeling anxious and misinterpreting. However, several people around me both in line for bib pick up and in transition commented similar feelings. There was no need to belittle individuals, directly and over the microphone in general, about not being ready or not moving fast enough. While the rest of the event really was very good, that part of the experience really soured the whole start to the day for me.

I thought the entire race was well put together and the volunteers were awesome. I think the only comment I could make is that there were some road defects (holes) on that initial 4-5 mile stretch of the bike that could have resulted in a bike crash. I would encourage an orange pilon be placed over these if they are not repaired for future races. Things like that could not only unseat a rider but result in some significant injury. The rest of the course was awesome and the road conditions absolutely beautiful! The other thing which is rather trivial (but I figured I'd mention it) is that the port-o-john's were placed at the opposite side of the transition area to the run departure gate and if those bathrooms were going to be utilized by racing athletes then it would more likely be at the end of the bike segment, before the run. It would make more sense to have them located on the same side where the run departure gate is located so there is not lost time running to the opposite end of transition to go to the bathroom. The port-o-john's that were on the run departure side were outside the fencing and thus they could not be used by those competing.

Need mile markers for bike and run. Need bull horn at swim start to instruct swimmers-- you could not be heard. Photos should be able to be sorted by bib #.

Thank you Steve. That is on the list for 2025 with the markers and speaker. We would love to have bb search and that is something we can look into. Thank you for taking the time to review us!
