The race itself was a good course, good atmosphere for the most part. It is very congested at the start with tight turns right off the starting point. The only real concern I had was that the course changed a few days before the race and did an out and back along a smaller road between the golf course which wasn't closed to traffic. At one point there were two steady flows of runners with cars in the mix as well which I don't think should have happened given we were told it would be a closed road course.

The event was fine but I was counting on there being gels at the stations. Lesson learned to bring my own next time. Pretty lame goody bag too.

Another faultless Farnborough half marathon. I love this half marathon. I have took part in every race apart from the very first one since it started. It's always been great, the only strange one was when it was hosted in the summer one year, that just felt wrong. Honestly you can't go wrong with this race. Brilliantly organised, super fast course, huge PB potential.

The Farnborough half Marathon was great, While it is not the "flattest" course it is still a fast and good route. There are a few pinch points on the course and the three corners directly at the start and end of the course get quite congested. While there were a number of toilet facilities these were all extremely busy and it would have been useful to have had access to more. The race goodie bag at the end was great with a small sports bag, the usual samples and bottle of water and a fantastic metal medal.

The race was a good one, interesting running around the airport before departing onto the roads which circumnavigated the airport and the military training areas near Aldershot. The pacers were very good and this helped me as I had some injury niggles so this enabled me to run a decent but comfortable pace until I kicked on from mile 9. This is advertised as a flat race but it does have some mild hills in it but as I like hills that suited me. My slight critisicms would be on the pre-race instructions info pack not giving out any information at all on suitable places to park, other races provide information on car parks with maps which saves time and stress on race day. The start of the race is far too over-crowded and what with the tight turns at the start you have to be be very careful not to be tripped up or trip somebody else up. The course also measured long at 13.24 miles which was a bit frustrating just so it finished by the hangar as that affected my overall time for an HM and the mile markers from about 6 miles were not accurate. The race village was quite sparse with no stalls at all or much of interest. Overall, the course is a good one and it was enjoyable but some more attention to detail and better pre-race info would be nice.

The event start is a mess.... the car parks don't use any apps so the car parks had massive queues and this has a knock on effect for the bag drop and toilets pre race.. The bag drop was a massive queue.... not ideal on a freezing morning.. Toilets more were needed. The race started on time. a lumpy course... pb potential if you want it enough.. Marshalls are all super friendly on route... water stations were bad as they were stationed too far from the road and were not very good at handing them out. The last 5k around the airport is naughty & lumpy and not what you need at the end of a race, but I managed to hold on and get a pb... The finish line was great, loads of goodies, a medal (not wooden) gels, water, a pair of gloves, a buff.. Free cake for every finisher as well... I mean who doesn't like cake after a run... For me the start of the race really needs looking at as the bag drop was awful, slow.. After the race the wind got up and the queue for the bag drop was long and slow.. I know its by volunteers but when its freezing cold and the wind is whipping up you need that bag with warm clothes...

It’s advertised as a flat and fast course. It is a quick course for a half marathon but there is some undulation and there are quicker courses around. It is an interesting course as you run through varied scenery including the Farnborough Airfield, the business park some residential roads and through a park. There was one section which is very narrow but I believe this is because of roadworks and is not normally like this! There is good support in very small segments this is due to a lot of the course being run around the airfield and business park. The start village is ok, very basic. Not enough toilets available. There is also no parking available but this is advertised before hand. There is plenty of parking available within a miles walk however. The water was given in cups which is never good. I believe there was gels available as well. Overall I think it’s a nice course, no thrills but few things can be improved on. You have to pay extra for photos but the medal is excellent and you also get gloves and a buff!

Chilly not Hilly is spot on. -5 this morning for the start - even the portaloos had frozen flushes (not pleasant). Never run this event before and really enjoyed it. It's a January race so expect it to be cold and plan accordingly. The event village is well organised and there was a nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking close by. The route starts with an initial loop around one end of the airfield and the then heads out on the outside of the airport. Mix of suburban roads and country roads. Pretty flat with a few gentle inclines but nothing too steep. The last few kilometres come back inside the airfield again with jets taking off in the distance and then a fast run in to the finish. Well organised, proper medal, bobble hat and other goodies at the end! Well done on the marhsalls standing out in the cold for this event. Overall a great event - bagged myself a new PB - and will be back. Recommend it.

Not much support on the way round, but it was -5! Water in cups which I personally can’t drink from whilst running. Saw this in advance so had water on me so not a problem. Nice woolly hat at the end, bit different from the usual T-shirt. Thanks to the marshals for coming out in such cold conditions.
