This was my second running of this event. Due to on going work along the coastal pathway though it was a different route to last year but was still pretty much pancake flat and starting and finishing in Fairhaven park at the lake, the start and finish was actually better this year as it wasn't hidden in the bushes! As always with FCR events the race brief was clear and the medal was great. This would be an ideal first event for someone due to the course profile and the size of the field.

With EHM being cancelled last minute I was lucky enough to land a place pacing the 65 minute group for this race.  I have run this area a couple of times (windmill half and 10k) and the route was pretty similar.

Plenty of parking near the start, even though the main car parks were closed due to the works going on near fairhaven lake.

The race starts and ends around fairhaven lake (near the spitfire) and heads out towards the windmill and back. Nice and flat route so good for anyone looking for PBs.

As ever a lovely FCR medal incorporating the spitfire.  The only negative on this race is the water station near half way wasnt very organised by the time i got there, they were unpacking water and didnt have any on hand for when my group passed.  I did stop for a few seconds and was able to get some.

Hopefully I will get chance to run this race again in the future.

Great new event from Fylde Coast Runners. Despite the weather I loved everything about it. Full review is on my blog, https://marathonbore.wordpress.com/2018/09/17/fairhaven-flyer-10k-race-review/
