Sea swim was tough but good - thanks to the marshal who stopped a group of us from swimming into a groyne! The bike course was pretty hilly (which is a nice change from plenty of other triathlons); could maybe have benefitted from being on some quieter roads. The run could probably be improved - 10km along the sea front is pretty tough on the joints, and by 10-11pm there are plenty of crowds to dodge, which isn't much fun when you're starting to feel knackered!

Great event but one small negative - I wasn't the fastest in the Olympic distance, most were doing the sprint. - I came in 2/3 of the way down the field. It was really uncool that the medals were being given out as I came in, literally on the finish line. I had to wade through spectators to get across the line. I get that the medals need to be given out in good time but there was loads of space at the finish - move 20 meters away and do it there?

A challenging bike course with a gorgeous pan flat run to finish off. Well organised, ample parking and great views. Highly recommend, but prepare for some hills!

The sea swim makes it interesting as never know what it will like on the day. Riding lanes and common was a lot of fun. Running on the sea front was flat and good for spectators. Really friendly organisers. Fun day out!

Really well ran event. This was my first olympic distance and the LME team answered all of the questions i raised. I had to make some amendments and this was all done in a timely manner from the friendly team. The event ran on time. A great briefing beforehand and the safety team including lifeboats and lifeguards were visible throughout - which was VERY reassuring. The swim had buoys and marshalls throughout and safety was paramount. In the transition areas they were secured and had staff allowing access to the area to ensure that bikes and kit were safe. The only negative was that this areas was a little snug to say the least. But during the race this wasn't noticeable. The bike route was really hilly - not for the faint-hearted. That said there were marshalls at every turn point and added safety of 'feet down' areas for roundabouts. The run was lovely and flat with loads of spectators cheering you on down the promenade for some much appreciated support. The medal was great and provided memories of a well-organised event. Whether you're a seasoned pro, or a first timer i can't recommend this enough. I travelled down for Leicester and it was worth the distance :)
