Lovely vibe to the event, great setup around the quayside for the start and finish, indoor bag drop, toilet facilities dotted around and at the activity centre, and then getting everyone underway to a fanfare, with plenty of supporters on the bustling quayside. Both participants ...

Lovely vibe to the event, great setup around the quayside for the start and finish, indoor bag drop, toilet facilities dotted around and at the activity centre, and then getting everyone underway to a fanfare, with plenty of supporters on the bustling quayside. Both participants and spectators well looked after before, during and after the event with pop-up event stalls and local cafes within easy reach. A relaxed and chilled event, relatively flat route with a couple bumps here and there, great if you want to get out there and give the distance a go without the pressure and crowds that come with other more well known events. Equally great for any supporters with the mini loop and double loop course bringing runners past the quayside without the need for too much wandering between vantage points. Well marshalled, particular thanks to those right out at the extremities of the course, plenty of aid stations, clear arrow markers throughout the course along mainly the river, quayside and parkland. Plus photographers out and about on the course capturing the event and your efforts for the day, a medal, a technical running t-shirt and the satisfaction of an official time thrown in - what’s not to like?

Well organised event catering for both 5 mile runners and those completing the marathon. Plenty of marshalls around the course and water stations. Finish area was well supported with sport massages available if needed. Water and bananas at the finish to enjoy whilst admiring your finishers medal. Recommend these runs and will be back for the next one.

A great place and atmosphere to race a Marathon, only hiccup that I had experienced was a collision with a fellow runner who was selfish in waiting/sharing a narrow footpath with myself and member of the public on a bicycles, was pushed out of the way and had fallen over! Maybe need to reiterate runners, especially from running clubs to respect everyone and their paces and it’s a non contact sport. I will say that negative experience and injury that has come from the fall, does give me cause for concern from runners attitudes, but that was only on person out of hundreds who had raced. I would like to come back and race 2027! Ashley

A flattish well supported race along river bank and roads. Ideal first marathon, a few bits in the nature reserve could have had a few more arrows, I thought I’d missed a turn at least once once the field spread out on second loop. Course was 1/2mile long, the first 1 mile loop around the quay was 2.4km the rest of the course was true to distance but this was a bit disheartening from so early on.. marshals really friendly, nice vibe at race HQ, good medal and T shirt fits well.

Absolutely loved this marathon! My son and I ran this together and the support from the organisers and the crowd were just brilliant throughout. Brilliant marshals and loads of them too, super chilled start line and easy to navigate. I'll definitely add this to my list to do agai...

This is the second time this has happened when taking part in this run, don’t understand why they don’t just tell the 5 mile runners a later start time rather than saying 9am when we can’t run until the marathon runners have passed! Thry must know it won’t start at 9am because if this issue
