My first Gravel Race! (not my first bike race) I enjoyed the experience and the course was fun and challenging/interesting in parts. Pleasant location and easy travelling✔ However, it was not a gravel race at all in any aspect to be honest. It was a grass ride around an undulating series of pastaure fields, a boggy section in a low part of a field interspaced with a small single track section through woodland and a concrete section through a farm! Three uphill and two flat aggregate road/gravel ish sections of circa 1.5k in total. This was a cyclo cross style grass race in my opinion, slightly disapointing as i thought we would be competing on gravel?! A more accurate discription of the event course would be helpful as riding a bike on pasture grass was not my idea of fun! Timing and tech was high quality, excelent timing chip and analysis software ✔ Very happy, encouraging and helpfull maershalls, well done for that✔
