Everything about the event was fantastic. I was a first timer, completed it with my daughter although we had different start times and loved every minute of it. Lovely atmosphere and good to be a part of.

Transition area was hopeless. Friends, family all in there. Many helping with wetsuits, shoes, holding bikes. All the time getting in the way of other competitors. I sincerely hope the GB qualification race in 2023 is significantly better.

Iconic venue & great medal but otherwise a disappointing event... Chaotic transition, needed marshals! Womens' Sprint swim very overcrowded. No post-event snacks or water.

I absolutely loved the location, it’s a great venue for a first triathlon - however I did have a situation in that i had a puncture and when I asked the Marshalls on the entrance to the transition area If he could help he said there were no mechanics on site and it was self repair I found this slightly odd so I questioned him and I was directed to another marshall, this marshall then pointed me back to the marshall who sent me to him in the first place ! So then another marshall stepped in and tried to repair the puncture which he failed to do and I was left standing in my wetsuit AFTER I HAD down the swim with a flat tyre - it was only that fellow participant stepped in and repaired it for me that I was able to continue - i later found out that there was an on-site mechanic stationed at the far end of the run course - had the initial marshall of told me this it would have saved me a lot of stress and 15 mins extra in the first transition which ultimately effected my race results and over all position - the organisational side of things weren’t great to be honest …….

This is the third year in a row that I've raced at this event, in 2014 and 2015 doing the Super Sprint and in 2016 doing the Sprint. I love this race as the organisation is spot on. A fairly small affair with really friendly race officials (the same faces every year) and the bonu...

The swim is always my fastest with really clear layout of buoys and great entry and exit. The bike is a super flat and fast course - the only thing that stops your speed is the crazy wind! But the bike course lap ends with a ride past the Olympic rings from the 2012 games - always feels special.

The run is straight through transition and out the other side for an incredibly flat run along the lake.

I cannot fault this race. My family love it too as they can bring a picnic and see me on all three disciplines without moving. Perfect spectator event - not one for the locals though.

All in all a brilliant triathlon - particularly for those like me who are nervous of big uphills!!
