It was a really good 5k race, unique and specific to the whole EHM weekend. Just made the start of the weekend fun and entertaining and all the different lights and colours was indescribable and well the finish line was like no other.

I ran this event on a free place as a presenter at the expo & a video creator making this race video https://youtu.be/RqqkiU7w1dc I have to say I loved this race. It was a whole weekend of running with the Night 5K on Fri, parkrun Saturday, the Half & the Mile on the Sunday. There’s 5 medals up for grabs over the weekend. Focusing on the 5K we all met at the sports hall where you collect the bib & drop your bag, there was enough toilets & the race starts on the running track. It’s dark when you start you’ll need a head torch for this race, but they’ve got all coloured lights & smoke machine around the start playing music it was a really unique start/finish line (see video) On you get out the track into a park & then fields it’s pitch dark you need a head torch. This is why I marked the view lower because it’s not really a views type of course it’s more about the party start & finish. At the finish it’s really cool crossing the disco lights & smoke machine & the medal was pretty awesome. If you’re going up to Warrington for the EHM you might as well make a weekend of it & do this race.

this was the best start to a great weekend of running, a 5k in the dark with glow sticks and torches aplenty. such fun to be a part of. the course is in a park and dark so no outstanding beauty!! however you do start and finish on a running track that makes you feel like a superstar! bag drop, loos and registration, all massively improved on last years 5k and this is worth doing if staying for the whole weekend.

Easy registration process. Plenty of parking available at Victoria Park. I selected number pick up on the day. No issues at all with pick up, speedy process, and as I had paid for the event tshirt, I picked this up with also no queuing. The park / running track had toilet facilit...

Easy registration process. Plenty of parking available at Victoria Park. I selected number pick up on the day. No issues at all with pick up, speedy process, and as I had paid for the event tshirt, I picked this up with also no queuing. The park / running track had toilet facilities and portaloos were also provided. As the night closed in we made our way to the running track for the start with lots of colourful lights this made for a cracking start. A partial loop of the track then off in to Victoria Park and the sight was fantastic seeing all the head/chest torches making a steady stream of lights round the park. The marshalls kept us all safe guiding the way and with lots of encouragement. The event finished with another loop round the running track which made for a great end to the run. Presented with a superb medal, drawstring bag with bottle of water and lucozade. First time running a night run and thoroughly enjoyed this event.

First time I ever done a night race - I LOVED IT!!! Picked up race number on the night, quick and easy took 2mins. As the sky got darker and the race got nearer you could see everyone ready to go with their head torches on. Nice flat 5k around the grounds of Victoria Park, was great to run around and see lights in the distance with people just following everyone else around the park. Great medal and also t-shirt if you prefer order. I will be back next year again

Picked up race bib on the night and was a quick easy process. Race started around the athletics track and took a route around the park and eventually back to the track. Runners were advised of need of head torch via email due to night race. The race was fun and being dark the vision of lights across the field was magical. The finish line was lit up by strobes and music was blasting. Overall a great enjoyable run.

English Half Marathon (EHM) weekend in Warrington got off to a cracking start with this great litttle Friday night 5k race. I booked early so entry was £8 plus £1 in fees. That’s great value. What runners get for their money is a well organised race which starts & finishes on Victoria Park running track. The course features a nice blend of smooth tarmac, grass & bumpy paths. Head torches were mandatory for safety sreasons. The sight of runners with head torches & the light show at start & finish areas was awesome. The general vibe around this event was 1st class. Finishers got a top quality medal, Lucozade, water & a handy tote bag. This race suits all abilities. Despite the trail nature it’s still a fast course with PB potential. For the new runner it’s a perfect 1st race. Thanks to the organisers for a great event. MASSIVE thanks to the marshalls who did a superb job keeping us all safe.

This 5k trail night race took place at Victoria Park and was part of the EHM weekend of running. Registration was quick & simple. There was a warm atmosphere in and around race HQ. Race started with a lap of the running track, when through paths, grassed areas before finishing with another lap of the track. Course was well put together and quite complex, but in a good way. It was flat, accurately measured and well marshalled. Some of the paths were a little bumpy but over all, this is a fast course. Finishers received a solid medal and a tote bag containing a bottle of energy drink & water. In summary - This is a super race - the perfect start to the EHM weekend of running. Great atmosphere and good value if you book early. The price does rise if you delay. I’d like to thank organisers and race marshals for a brilliant job. I’ll certainly be back in 2019.
