It was my first time running this race. My enjoyment was somewhat affected by the extremely hot day. I do think that perhaps it would make more sense to start it earlier that 11am. I know there is a kids race first but still could be earlier as in August. The course is really lov...

It was my first time running this race. My enjoyment was somewhat affected by the extremely hot day. I do think that perhaps it would make more sense to start it earlier that 11am. I know there is a kids race first but still could be earlier as in August. The course is really lovely. Maybe not as flat as I was expecting but the second half was particularly scenic. Nice t-shirt and medal. I’d entertain again.

One of my favourites this year and the scene of my PB! Nicely organised despite the constraints of the small school hosting. Very speedy and no-fuss registering, lots of helpful volunteers and the school canteen opened for pre and post race snacks! Absolutely adored the race, des...

One of my favourites this year and the scene of my PB! Nicely organised despite the constraints of the small school hosting. Very speedy and no-fuss registering, lots of helpful volunteers and the school canteen opened for pre and post race snacks! Absolutely adored the race, despite the very wet weather, a good thunder round the pretty town with a fab mile along the canal towards the end before coming in via the school athletics track for a sprint finish. Not much in the way of goodies but adequate with banana and mars bar, but great shirt and nice chunky medal!

Excellent 10k in Ellesmere. Course is pretty flat, just a few inclines with bridges over canal. A nice variety of on road, hard standing track next to lake and decent surface along canal trail. Standard British August Bank Holiday weekend weather meant it was extremely wet and therefore a few muddy puddles to deal with. Plenty of marshalls on the course to direct and keep everyone safe. Cheap entry with a nice medal and t-shirt.

Recommended. Hopefully next year will be drier.
