I was in a fundraising team of women entering the Sprint and Try-a-Tri events this year. We were so well looked after by the EG Tri club in the run up to the event, at the Race Recce, via text and email. The announcer made a big thing about our team and everyone made us incredibly welcome. With newbies to cycling on the roads in our team, there were quite a lot of nerves around, but everyone completed their events in style. This event is so well-organised and the marshalls are just wonderful, I would recommend it to anyone - give a Tri a go! X

This was my first time doing the East Grinstead triathlon and I had a great time. The event was really well organised, enthusiastic marshalls and lots of local support. Also thought it was great value getting a free t-shirt and the race photos after too.

Fourth time and really enjoyed it again. Will be back next year. One suggestion on the bike route. How about 10, 15, 20km markers? And maybe one at half-way. Not being from the area it would be so helpful to know how far you have to go to know how hard to push! Thanks!

Fantastic race. Really well organised with great marshals. I have raced here many times over the years. Did my first tri here back in 1990 and it's always a pleasure.

This was the second year competing and I think that it is one of the best Tri's in which I have been involved. It is extremely well organised and the EG Tri Club go out of their way to be helpful and constructive. It is a standard to emulate.
If I am fit enough, I shall compete again next year.
The only issue is parking ahead of the event. Some gidance on this would be appreciated in future.
Overall, well done EG Tri!

This was my first Tri and I found it well organized and very friendly. The surport from everybody before hand and on the day was amazing. Would strongly recommend this event.

Not my best day as I had dodgy guts before the race and needed several trips to the loo, a bad back on the run and stitch (which I never get) whilst running too. Generally this was a struggle for me as I just didn't feel great.
However, the event it self was really well organised (slight issues with swim start) with more marshalls/organises than I have seen at any event so far. Marshalls were all really smiley and supportive which makes a massive difference so thanks to all the marshalls and volunteers.
Swim was in a pool but rather than zig/zag you were allocated a lane and just did the 16 lengths in that lane. They kept it to only (4 I think) a few people per lane which means it's not to overwhelming for people like me who aren't great swimmers. The drawback to this was that it seemed to take ages to get everyone through the swim so I started about 30 mins after my allocated swim start. Nonetheless, really helpful marshalls and made for a very calm swim experience which is great for newbies.
Bike course was slightly longer at 26K and undulating so made for quite a tough TT course. Very good road surface though and I think all left turns which is great. Very few cars around when I was on the course and generally a really nice course going through pleasant countryside and small villages.
Run course was two laps going through the town centre with tons of marshalls. There were some fairly tight turns/tight gaps to navigate and it did mean you sometimes had to look around to check where other runners were in relation to you. Personally I prefer a loop or an out and back run rather than laps but I guess everyone has different views on this.
Overall a really well organised event and really great value for money. Nice tech T-shirt as well. Unfortunately no medal at the end (this is my 2nd Tri in two weeks with no medals at either so starting to feel hard done by!) Personally I would rather pay a little more and get a medal at the end - reading last years reviews it seems they did give out medals in 2016 but maybe switched to the T-shirt? Like I said, I'd rather have both and pay a bit more.
