This is the second year that I’ve run both races i.e. the 7am and the 7pm race.

The field was larger, this year, owing to the fact that the 7/7 was a Saturday.

There is very little to criticise about this event. The organisation is excellent. The venue is picturesque, with a slightly undulating route. The medals are excellent quality and the t shirts are decent enough.

I really enjoy this race and look forward to next year!

A really nice summer route that is mostly flat. We were lucky enough that the weather was perfect for the 7am run. There was a great turnout for an (almost full) loop around the reservoir. Unfortunately DPD had let the race organisers down and the t-shirts hadn't arrived but I organised for mine to be sent on. The medal is a nice medal and the goodie bag had water, chocolate and haribo in what more could you want before heading to Parkrun.

Overall great little summer route that I would definately consider doing again next year.

The concept is simple, a 7 km race at 07:00 (and if you're up for it another at 19:00 \ 07:00 pm) on the 7th day of the 7th month at Severn Trent's Draycote water. Hence Seven @ Severn. This year it was a warm Saturday morning, and a great turnout for the 07:00 race. 341 runners...

341 runners. The Race Organiser has a well established routine at it's Draycote races. So turn-up, park, pick-up race number, warm-up, run, collect medal etc.

I've done a few races at Draycote now, and there was a special feeling about this 07:00 race, no doubt helped by the sun, the temperature etc.

The course is a partial lap of the reservoir, so there's a short walk from event HQ to the start and then the familiar lap. There was a drinks station part way round, water from cups. And drinks available at the end. A nice medal in the shape of a 7 (what else). Unfortuantely DPD had let the organsiers down and there were no tees at the morning race, but I collected mine in the evening and I understand that they were prepared to send to people who left their address.

For those who've never been, there's plenty of parking and toilets at the visitor centre which also has a restaurant. There's also a playground suitable for younger kids if they want to tag along.

I really enjoyed the distance of this run, longer than a 5k but could put more effort in than a 10k. The run is all the way around the waters edge, missing out the biggest hill - which is great! A lovely sunny day, a scenic route and great goody bag at the end and I was happy...

We opted for the evening race due to work (had the 7th fallen on a weekend, I suspect more people would have done both the morning and the evening races)!  Friendly, local race atmosphere and a nice distance for newer runners.  One flat loop - a few undulations but no hills, so it's a nice fast course if you want to give it a blast!

The only downside was that it took the lower path rather around the reservoir (there is an upper path alongside the water which offers lovely views), so for a lot of the race, you can't actually see much of the reservoir!

Would do this one again, and would like to do the two races in the same day.

The course is undulating but this is offset by the scenery around the reservoir.

The evening race was obviously far bigger than the morning race, so this gave a different flavour to each race.

The organisation was excellent and the organisers were very friendly and helpful.

A bonus of running both races was that the medals were actually different. There was also a good quality t shirt and a reasonable goody bag

Definitely a must do again race!
