I find it hard to put the Dragon's Back experience into words.
By no means is this event a 5* resort. Instead it's raw, embedded in an outstandingly beautiful course which challenges participants physically, mentally and even emotionally.
The race is mainly self-sufficient but what the team does provide is incredible. There are 2 water stations per day and the volunteers here give so much attention and energy (it's easy to forget that they too are out in all weather, all day).
On top of this, there are incredible people involved to set up each day's camp, provide medical care and dish up delicious breakfast and dinner (in this respect, the catering beat any all-you-can-eat buffet I've ever been to!).
It also must be said that the RD's values, passion and attention to detail are evident - this gave me another layer of determination, to complete this race out of respect.
Not your typical race but one that I cannot recommend enough!
The finishers dragon is something to be coveted.
