Well, what can I say? You run through the disney parks, meet characters (often rare ones) and get the chance to see the back area that the public dont usually get to see. If you run the 36k challenge, like I did, you get 5 tshirts and 5 medals!!!!! A must for any disney fan.  

2nd time at these races, completed inaugural in 2016. Amazing courses with unique photo opportunities. There are still a few things they need to fix, mainly expo (lack of items/bib and t-shirt pick-up) and organisation (expo and race start) but these do not take anything away from the magic. Medals are superb. Support from cast members and supporters is the best. 5k, 10k and 1/2 are in both parks/disney village with 1/2 going out into countryside and town also. All are relatively flat. Plenty water stops and toilets en route with, water/powerade/food stops for 1/2. 5k was at 8pm Friday, 10k 7am Saturday and 1/2 7am Sunday, early start but means have rest of day to relax and enjoy the parks. If staying in Disney accommodation can walk to start, outside hotels put on buses. These races are the best I have taken part in. I am returning to do it all again in 2018.

This was the second year of the event and the second time me and my family have done it.

Registration really easy if you time it right you dont have to queue we queed for about 45mins.This was to get bibs for 3 races and our t-shirts. We each needed a bib for the 5K, but as we were doing the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Challange which was done by running the 10K and Half Marathon you had one bib to wear for both races.

All very easy to get in fairness, considering the size of the event. The Expo is quite small, there is an area of Run Disney merch, then the sponsors stands. The Disney merch is very limited compared to the USA lets hope next year we get some car magnets, plush and xmas decs in France!! The best sponsors stall is always Vitell.Last year they had a trampoline to take photos on, this year was a mirror on the floor. Worth stopping to get your free water, photo,glow sticks and bangers!

The 5k Friday night starts at 8pm, we got started quickly as we were near the front .The Race started by Sequoia Lodge and ran through the village into the studios park. Parts of this were very dark and considering children as young as 5 were running it was verging on dangerous in places. Lots of your favourite disney characters were out to take photos with, including many rare ones!! Couple of water stations along the way too. We compleated our race in around 45mins and got our medals, but they did run out so around 500 people didnt get theirs (how on earth do Disney run out of medals I dont know) We then got water and milk shakes followed by the famous run Disney goody box filled with snacks. After piling us up with all this they then gave us a bag to put it all in!!! Why we couldnt have the bag first I will never know. A downside to all the races was the bag check was at the expo which was a good 10min walk from the finish, so that much needed jacket that you checked in was still a walk away so lots of people caught a chill.

10k took place Saturday morning starting at 7am. Brill atmosphere with a dj playing top tunes ran through both parks this time, loads of characters to have your photo with and the cast support was amazing. This race had water and powerade stations.In my opinion the best race of the 3.

Half marathon on Sunday, 7am start, again brill atmosphere  8k in both parks and loads of characters tosee  before heading out on the closed roads around disney. Not much support,but it was early on a Sunday morning so I can not blame them! Pockets of enteraiment,and lots of security making everything feel safe. this race had water, powerade and food to keep our energy up. Support amoung the runners was top notch,everyone is so friendly while running and in the corals.Finish line again in studios park as in the previous 2 races.This time as well as all the drinks and food,bag still at the end!! They were handing out silver blankets to keep you warm.Shame it was a hot day and they were not really needed. 

Everyone got a medal as far as I know for the half and the challenges.

Overall the Run Disney races can not compare to any I have run in the UK. The atmosphere is electric, the runners are great the cast are amazing and the bling is massive. If you ever get the chance to do a Run Disney event go for it, you will not be dissapointed. 

A truly magical experience and I would recommend this event to everyone but especially Disney lovers!

I booked my entry through a sports tour operator so can only go by this experience. I was able to book my race entry and accommodation all in one go and didn’t have any issues at all during this process or once I arrived at Disneyland.

Bib pick was relatively easy - and the expo centre appeared very well organised (although I did hear from others attended that they ran out of some tshirt sizes).

The race itself was well set up and the course took us through both the studios and the park with characters out on the course to have pictures taken with although the queues were quite long, especially for the more popular characters. A lot of people settled for selfies taken quickly whilst running past. There was lots of support in the parks from hotel staff and cast members.

After the first few miles we headed out of the park and during these next few miles or so local support was sparse but there were still lots of volunteers and entertainment along the route.

The last few miles took us back to the parks via a few of the hotels and again support from Disney staff was good and by this time there were lots of guests around giving support.

The finish was located in the studios but not in a central location which was disappointed but as the parks were open as normal I was probably difficult to have the finish in a more “scenic” place.

The medal was excellent and high quality and for those completing challenges (10k & Half or Chateaux to Castle) there was extra medals and tshirts.

The aid stations on the course were good and there were a lot of them offering water, energy drinks and food.

The finishers bag was good as well - water, energy drink, protein milkshake, banana, biscuits, nuts and a space blanket among the freebies.

The course is relatively flat and had PB potential although all the stopping and starting for character pictures could hamper achieving a PB.

All in all my experience was fantastic - I’m definitely curious to experience how this compares to other Run Disney events in America.

Would recommend to all Disney lovers, and with 5k, 10k and the half (or all 3) to choose from there is a race for all levels of ability.

the entry process was a complete shambles, it took me 5 hours, sat at my PC, to complete an entry. The RunDisney Facebook and Twitter team had no clue what was going wrong with the website and this was very frustrating. 

The registatation, bib collection and t shirt allocation was equally shambolic. No id was requested when I collected my bib, despite being told to bring my passport. RunDisney had used a new supplier for the t shirts and they all can up in odd (tiny) sizes. By the end of the first registration day RunDisney had run out of many sizes of t shirt and lots of people were unhappy. 

On the Saturday with the kids races they actualky ran out of medals and gave out adults Half Marathon medals to the children instead. 

My last moan is that there were hundreds of runners who clearly made up times in order to get into the second wave of starters  (there are three corals A, B and C)  it was somewhat annoying to spend the first 2km avoiding walkers who had gone out in wave B and would clearly be walking most of the route  please be honest on your entry form, it is disrespectful to other people who wish to run all the way and have to expend energy going around you so early in the event  

On to the good stuff!

this is a unique opportunity to run in the two Disney parks at DLP, and actually they got all 7000 HM runners off within 50 minutes. They could have supplied a few portaloos alongside the starting corals for those with a longer wait. 

There was some support along the route from locals, for the 7k outside the park and RunDisney did a great job with entertainment and music along the way. 

If they could just get the admin stuff sorted I would recommend this event. 

Omg this was an amazing race, would definitely do it again. 

Running through the parks were outstanding, having photos with characters, superb! 

The medal was outstanding, my best one yet!! 

I will definitely return the Disney one day!
