This is the first time I have entered the Derby Triathlon and I wouldn't hesitate to enter again. Positives: I entered last minute and received all race information very quickly, well organised race information, friendly and reassuring marshalls, the other competitors were also really friendly and chatty which makes a difference for the nerves, ticket at the end with break down of time, safe space for luggage if needed Neutral: images of race course weren't very clear (I didn't know the area either so no point of reference), bike course at the end was a bit confusing but marshalls were there to shout me back on track, parking wasn't great but there were 310 competitors so I should have got their earlier . Negatives: The weather was supposed to be dry (it wasn't). I learnt that undulating does not mean flat. Unless you have larger than life influence, I begrudgingly admit these negatives are out of your control

I've taken part in the Derby Triathlon for a number of years now and it has always been exceedingly well organised. Each year there seems to be some very slight improvement on something or other, e.g. the run out of the swimming pool is a better line and now has a red mat to run along. This shows that the organisers listen to hepful suggestions, not that I can think of any this year. I would recommend this for someone's first triathlon. It has a super friendly atmosphere and everyone is encouraged to enjoy themselves. Photos are free to download and prizes for first in category are lovely.

Nice friendly event well organised. My only slight gripe was the faster athletes going later on which meant slightly busier roads and being held up couple of times by cars. Most other events do it the other way round faster athletes off first. There maybe some reason why this was...

Absolutely fantastic event. Well organised with the safety of competitors and enjoyment of the triathlon at the heart of it all. PMA looks after everyone, from the new kids on the block to the seasoned athletes at the pointy end - and everyone in-between! They go above and beyond to make sure we all have a brilliant experience. Loved the whole race from start to finish, even though it was throwing it down with rain! The Marshalls are friendly and full of enthusiasm and I will be back next year! Highly recommended!

This is always a very well organised event. Communication is good and, it transpires, comments are noted. Last year I said that the indoor signage to the pool was lacking. This year it was excellent. The atmosphere is friendly and encouraging. We have become accustomed to instant results which is fantastic. The prizes are phenominal. It's also amazing that we can get high quality photos for free. Well done. If I'm fit and able, I'll be there again next year. The only thing for me, and I know probably not for many people, is the hot drinks: I can't digest lactose and don't drink tea but I would have liked a peppermint or other common herbal tea to warm me up. Thank you.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to say 'Thank you' for such a well organised event. It all ran very smoothly. I think the only suggestion I could make is that the briefs are held near the registration/transition area, if that's possible, instead of at the stop of the steps near the pool entrance. I and a few others had already carried our bikes and belongings down the steps and were waiting to either register or access the transition area and didn't want to carry everything back up the steps to the brief. You can still see the pool entrance and exit route down to transition from the registration area. I achieved what I'd set out to do, thank you, and that was to complete the triathlon and raise lots of money for charity.

Good communication pre event. Well organised and relaxed , only downside is that I prefer a grass based transition area. Concrete is a bit hard on the old feet.

My third time here and the organisation is excellent. All the volunteers and staff are so helpful and friendly. Clear direction and instructions of where to go and what to do. Lots of friendly like minded people around ready to chat and share useful advice. Definitely be back
