Great event over a superb and scenic route. Its a monster challenge and the route takes in a lot of smaller roads which is great for low traffic and scenery but carries a little extra cost in terms of short sharp climbs that get tucked in between the larger climbs. Set a good pace and eat at every (of the many) feed stations and watch out for the climb to the finish. A special mention to the organisers and helpers on the day, they could not have done more and were genuinely caring and helpful at every opportunity. You really feel looked after on this ride.

Having just completed the Dartmoor Legend, I can confidently say it stands out as the most rewarding sportive I've experienced. The route itself was an absolute joy, a sentiment perhaps amplified by favourable weather. Witnessing the sunrise paint the sky during the coastal stretch near Dawlish and Teignmouth was truly special. The subsequent roads both on and around the moor were simply delightful, offering a satisfying level of challenge, particularly those punchy climbs encountered in the final 50 miles. The event's organisation was top-notch, maintaining a personal touch that I greatly appreciated. Throughout the ride, the staff were consistently helpful and supportive. Navigation was a breeze thanks to the excellent signage, and my family enjoyed following my progress via the GPS track. The feed stops were also well-stocked, providing ample fuel. While the experience was overwhelmingly positive, a couple of minor tweaks could elevate it further. As someone who prefers liquid nutrition, the absence of energy drink at the smaller "pop-up" feed stations was a slight drawback. While zero-calorie electrolyte tablets were available, the lack of a sugary option in the water meant eating more stodge. Additionally i ran out of water twice – once before Checkpoint 2 and again before Checkpoint 3 – leading to overcompensation at the feed stations and a less-than-ideal feeling for a few miles afterwards; I am a heavy sweater however. The finisher's T-shirt in the gift bag was a great touch, and I would have readily purchased a jersey had one been available. Finally, while general communication about the event was good, the responsiveness to email queries was inconsistent, with some receiving prompt replies while others went unanswered. Despite these minor points, the Dartmoor Legend has left a lasting impression, and I'm already looking forward to signing up for next year's edition.

I was the last person of the day to complete this monster of a challenge after nearly 19 hours in the saddle. I genuinely don’t think I would have passed the finish line without the overwhelming amount of encouragement from the ladies in the last food stop, the rescue team that kept an eye on me on the last 20 miles and in particular the very kind person that lent me his hi-viz and drove along side me to give me a pep talk in my time of need. A great event ran by a great company!! Chapeau

The whole event was very well organised and the support staff were great. Being on Dartmoor in the evening the mechanic crews were out making sure everyone was OK. Would have helped to have a bit more nutrition at the pop up station at Roadford - most people ended up stopping Okehampton to buy sandwiches.

Great day, really friendly staff at the feed stations. Offering a good selection of food and Tea (Which makes a big difference and don't get at all events)! Staff went the extra mile for people offering sun cream and asking if everyone was ok which was really nice. No que's and great stop locations with toilets. Nice to have a longer sportive as a real challenge. Only recommendation would be to have a Facebook group that all riders could join and chat leaving up to the event (Helps feel more involved and sharing experiences) I know there was a group but never got approved. :-)

What a great event! 200 miles around Dartmoor incorporating all the iconic climbs. A long and extremely tough day but what an achievement at the end! Some real type II fun. The course was really well marked and the route files well made. Friendly helpers at the feed stations making sure you were well stocked and hydrated especially towards the later stages.

Fantastic and very tough event but it was a shame and disappointing the lack of people who took part. It has a potential to be a very popular event. The trackers were a great addition for supporters to track where the riders are. I think the signage to the headquarters could be improved and more information about parking at the venue would be useful especially if there will be a larger number of participants in the future. Overall a superb day.
