2022 - I absolutely loved the event! This was my first 1/2 marathon - I started running 18 months ago in the lockdown, and the rest as they say is history! This marathon certainly did it for me - I will be back next year and the year after for sure! I loved the variety of the running course - hills, roads, pavements, countryside and of course finishing in the Central Park! The marshals did a fantastic job - directing and cheering us on. The local people were also amazing. Thank you Dartford half marathon for boosting my love for running!

I really do enjoy this course! It’s hard with some killer hills but all the way round the course is so varied with the different sections you run and the different gradients you run at. Because it’s so varied the time seems to fly by! There isn’t many toilets at the start, which is all too common with races now, the aid stations was a little lacking with paper cups of water, and at the end just a banana and Jaffa cake! No photos either which is a real shame! The medal is always good though. If you a grading the course only then it’s a 5 out of 5 course for how varied it is! And if all you care about is the course then you should run it! If your grading everything else then it’s a 2 out of 5, if they just improved on the aid stations, photos, finishers bag, toilets etc…. then this would be a brilliant event!

The weather wasn’t great this year but made it much more of a challenge and good feeling when finished!
Everyone talks about a hill at mile 10 which is a challenge, but once you get to the top it makes the final miles feel so good.  There are other up and down hills through the county lanes as well.  This is one of the most varied half marathons I’ve run and highly recommend!

First time doing this course on what was a wet and windy day but was a local one for me. A fair few hills on the way round, the one at 10 miles is tough but good support at the top and a decent run back to the park for the track finish from there, although the lap of the park when you can see the finish line and turn away from it was tough. The 4 drinks stations all well manned, some support on course but very rural in places and weather wasn't great. Decent race over all

Its an undulating course with 2 main hills , the hill at about mile 10 is a massive challenge buts once its done its flat or downhill to the finish. I entered 10 days before the race so had to collect my number on the day instead of it being posted. As usual at the races this was a pain and took 15 minutes to get my number and then a 15 minute wait for the traditional pre race wee. A nice course with a mixture of countryside and town running. Not all roads are closed and not all junctions had marshalls however it was only 2 and these were quieter roads. Overall a good race and i will be entering again.

Dartford Harriers AC provided the runners with all the amenities required, which were excellent.  Nice Work were superb in their organisation as always.  Big up to the young cadets on car parking duties.  The race started on time and soon were were onto quiet country lanes.  Support was fantastic by the residents.  The first 5 miles seems to all up hill on this undulating course.  There were some superb downhills, though.  The hill at mile 10 was very challenging and I conceded defeat and walked it.  A lovely lady was at the top to high five!  From then on it was good running back to Central Park.  The marshalls were exceptional, but the ones on the road crossing, when we came from the subway, near the roundabout to the A225 were fantastic and had the trafffic management well in hand. Lovely finish on the athletics track and a hot cup of tea!  Well done everyone and thank you.

I completed this race yesterday for the first time (also my first half), it was very well organised and marshalled, with some closed roads and manned crossing points. Plenty of water stops provided and great food at the end (chocolate cookies much appreciated, plus bananas, energy balls, and fruit bags). All the marshalls were friendly and encouraging, despite standing out in the cold for hours, there were also quite a few members of the public along the route with encouragement and treats!

The course itself is good, tarmacced country lanes and roads, but it is quite hilly. The big, steep hill at mile 10 is a killer! I didn't see anyone manage to run up the whole thing! After the killer hill, the rest of the route is gently downhill back to the park and it is nice to finish with a lap of the athletics track even if I didn't have enough energy left for a sprint finish!

Due to the snow last week, we didn't receive our race packs in the post prior to the event, but the team were very good and provided alternative bib numbers for us with ease.

There were a few photographers out on the route and a photographer from the Dartford Messenger there before the race began.

Medal is great quality, solid metal with the date of the event on the ribbon. I would definitely do this half again and recommend it to anyone.

A great race that is well organised by a local club. The course is quiet, scenic and challenging. The hill at mile 10 is not as terrifying as some might say.
