Fantastic event. Really well organised with a low key, no pressure, no ego vibe that strikes the right balance between supportive and encouraging you to be self sufficient and accountable. Top rate staff and volunteers - friendly and helpful. If you want a supported, achievable challenge over a truly glorious course then I highly recommend the Dales Traverse.

What an amazing experience. Definitely a steep learning curve on my first attempt figuratively and literally!!. Thanks to the staff and volunteers and other runners for their support during the race. Will be back to finish the job.

Loads of pre race information and support if you reached out to the team made approaching my first ultra fairy straight forward. On the day kit check was straight forward. The GPS tracker and ability to share it with my friends / family was FANTASTIC! As was the supply of paper and digital maps. Navigation was fairly straightforward bar the odd mis step. Aid station was placed just over 2/3 of the way through the course. Felt something a littler earlier may have been useful but appreciate there's not a lot of opportunity. Something to by mindful of when you're preparing to enter the event. However the station was well stocked and helpful staff on hand. At the end medal received was very nice, as was t shirt. BUT BUT BUT.... having just run 33 miles on a pretty warm day, I'm ready for some refuelling. A celebratory bit of grub. Being welcomed with some slightly soggy vegetarian sausage rolls and a small bowl of oven chips was a let down. The food at the aid station was lovely. Having a hearty veg curry / stew / pasta bake or other one pot would have been much appreciated at the end of the event. If anyone is considering entering I would thoroughly recommend.

hi, Great event and very much enjoyed. I just felt that there was a lack of aid station. Appreciate this was marked in the event information, but having the first water station 37km in to the race, did not feel great. That said, Dales Bike centre and the staff helping were great, Stu's coffee is on point ! I assume the availability of the cafe has a bearing on how far this was through the race It was also a hot date, perhaps un-seasonally , and I felt that there should have been a water station at half way. Completed many events and water stations and spread out better. Also felt that more could have been offered at the end, you said in the literature that hot drinks were available - but this was not seen, and when asked was told not available. Cold uncooked chips were also a little disappointing. I know events take a lot to put on, and are expensive - but us northerner like a cup of tea ! See you next year.. Al

A hard start climbing to the top of 9 Standards, but we'd been provided with a course profile diagram so it wasn't a shock. After that it was a beautiful undulating course with outstanding scenery - just cruise and enjoy the views. The weather was warm with a cool headwind which risked dehydration - make sure you carry the water you need as it's 37k to the first water point. It's a brilliant and eminently accessible ultra.

Well i must say a massive well done to the event team for booking the weather. I've signed up for next year in hope you guys put another word in with the big man to send the big yellow thing out in the blue sky. I did think at one point I was in the desert then I climbed up some slate mountain and ended up on the moon. Covered all terrain on this race. Only point I would say is due to the big yellow thing being out both us Dales racers and the full traverse guys where struggling for water as we where drinking alot and it was a long time to the bike centre. I think in future an emergency water point may be worth looking at or asking the one farm house if they can just leave the hose pipe unvavled over the wall 馃ぃ. 100 out 100 guys. Great route, great support, great banta and just great time to be alive running on yet another great race. Also I did the moors traverse last year and ended up crying in the bogs and questioning life. Thanks for no bogs at nine standards this year. My tears where replaced with smiles.
