what a great race! Everyone was really friendly and helpful. people went out of their way for you-- speaks to the comradery of running. there was such great food and drink at the aide stations, and helpful volunteers that even helped you re-stick your fly tape and repin your h...

what a great race! Everyone was really friendly and helpful. people went out of their way for you-- speaks to the comradery of running. there was such great food and drink at the aide stations, and helpful volunteers that even helped you re-stick your fly tape and repin your haphazard bib. only thing I wish was that there was a little more first aide support esp at the finish. admittedly this was not a challenging course, but I am not a coordinated person and some extra bandaids would have been great. but I would highly recommend this to anyone. thank you all the volunteers who made this so great for us!

This was my first 50k and was an awesome experience. Trail was well taken care off, overhang and canopy trees provided a cool temperature and was easy to navigate. Organization, staff, aid stations and road crews were all professional, personable and friendly. Met a lot of friendly runners that simply enjoy running and liked to chat it up while running. I’ll repeat this run next year for sure. Thanks!

The camaraderie among runners and the uplifting volunteers added a special touch. Perfect race for beginners. This course is ideal for first-time 50K runners: flat and out-and-back (not have to worry about following signs, ribbons, etc.). The out-and-back feature ensures that you will see all the runners on the course. The only drawback (if you can call it that) was the amount of gravel that formed the trail. I thought the two tracks in the trail would be all dirt. Gravel is necessary to preserve the trail, but I just wasn't expecting it. I would recommend this race not only for first-timers but also for experienced trail runners.

Beautiful course. The trail is in excellent shape- well taken care of. This was my first 50k and I don’t think I could have picked a better race. I recommend it for those of us who are transitioning out of road running, as it’s a rails-to-trails course without too much technical terrain. The frequency of aid stations was helpful as well. My only concerns ahead of time about the race were that the weather would be excruciating (it wasn’t that bad and the trail *really* is mostly covered and even has cool pockets during a few miles) or that there would be deer flies (only encountered one and only for about 2 seconds). The food, drinks and beer afterwards were great as well. Lots of laughing and smiling throughout the day, which is not what I would have expected given this was by far the longest and farthest I’ve ever run.

Great race that's especially good for a first-time trail ultra! Flat, well-marked course. Aid stations were well-spaced. Volunteers and race staff went above and beyond! You also can't beat free, high-quality race photos. I've done this one twice and plan to return.
