I ride regularly at Rosaryville and happened to see the race signs posted during a ride the Tuesday before the race. I've never raced before but decided to go for it and had an absolute blast. The communication leading up to race day, the organization the day of the race, and the race itself was excellent. The t-shirt and socks are a great touch. The whole community there was very supportive. Loved it. I will 100% do more EX2 races next year. Since it was my first mtb race I don't have anything to compare the singletrack passing to but overall it went smooth. Early on, there was one person that must have sprinted out above their true speed and ended up at the front of a line of about 9-10 of us and for whatever reason wasn't pulling over to let the group pass. I know between the pre-race e-mail and the speech before the start talked about passing etiquette but we were stuck for a few minutes on the singletrack. I was just out there for fun but the competitive juices get flowing (myself included) so it was frustrating and even more frustrating for those chasing real good time. I'm not sure how he ended up so far up front given the double track by the powerlines. Anyway, minor in the grand scheme of it all and probably not much possible to prevent it.

You seriously cannot find a better race director anywhere in the sports universe. Andy Bacon is amazing. From his set-up videos on social media to his friendly personal involvement throughout the day...just amazing! Everything was as perfect as all his races are...well marked, good email info leading up to the race, fast post-race results and photos. Again, everything you want as someone looking to have a great race day experience. Side note, this is my 5th EX2 race...and every single race is just as fun and well run as this one was!

The staff was super friendly & helpful. I appreciate the emphasis on being cordial-competitive. We're not qualifying for the olympics & all have to go to work on Monday. The spread at the end of the race was absolutely top notch. So stoked this race was brought back after hiatus in previous years. Its super cool that there were kid divisions too; such a cool way to bring the next gen into the sport. Perhaps (if permitting allows) have a beer truck & get some bike company reps out there to look at some cool bikes & bling. It was a rad well-run race--thank you!!

EX2 Knocks it out of the park once again! Communication from the race director and team is second to none. The course was in great shape, hydration stations every couple of miles (very much appreciated since it was pretty hot and sunny), fun swag, and the finish line spread was fabulous! 10/10 - Will 100% do this event again!

EX2 put on another great event for the 2026 Cranky Monkey. I do hope EX2 keeps this race at Rosaryville State Park. It is a great venue for all levels, from beginner to expert, which is super important. From everyone I chatted with, I got the same sentiment that the venue was perfect. Excited to come back next year!
