The 1.9km course was inaccurately measured. My GPS watch recorded 2.3km and my time reflected the extra distance. I have spoken to other competitors at the venue and at a subsequent race who all agree.

As always, a great event, but I fear I may be approaching the point where I am regrettably priced out of competing in such events. The entry fee is now very high, added to which is £6 parking and travel costs. There also seemed to be an issue later with long queues for regular...

1st time with the big swim team, what a Gem we found by chance when it popped up on Facebook. Very friendly organisers who sorted us out with details of the local campsite. Such a friendly event, love the enthusiasm of Shouty Dave! Brilliant Metal medal ( please never go wooden) great Tshirts to buy seperate, fabulous venue with a lovely Cafe. Cannot reccomend this event enough. Brilliant Age group trophies too 😁

Did both Big Swims this year, really enjoyed them, excellently run. Loads of good timely information prior to the event. DBX staff helpful and welcoming, plenty of Kayaks out on the lake to help swimmers if necessary. Well marked out course and plenty of distances to choose from ...

I did this 750m open water event with my 11 year old son in both June and September. The event is brilliant and everyone who puts it on is amazing. My only action going forward is to consider medals for all 3 places especially for the U18 category and relays. To keep the children engaged and consider entering more events in the future I think it is very important to reward them for coming 1st 2nd or 3rd. It is so difficult to be the overall winner and it makes them give up. 2nd and 3rd are more attainable and will keep them coming back. Even in the Vet40 where I got my 1st ever medal placing (bronze) for any swimming competition it was disappointing to not get a medal ha! Therefore the children find it even harder. It does make you want to come back when you are wanting to be placed in the top 3 and get something for it. Thanks loads. It was epic. Especially loved the relays with the energised pumping music. Overall excellent. Thanks.
