Genuinely, if you want to give this distance a go, choose this company !!

I had been looking forward to taking part in the Cotswold triathlon as a first time competitor. Unfortunately I suffered a serious knee injury and was unable to take part. Whilst the communication for the event had been excellent and I had read very good reviews , and was very much looking forward to taking part I was left feeling very disappointed with the outcome. To enter these large events you do need to take out the race insurance as there are no refunds for the entry fee of £200.00 entry. I had missed checking a box on an entry form which would have insured I might have recouped some of the entry fee. I was offered the chance to defer to 2025 on the proviso that I marshalled the race but due to the injury sustained I could not do this. Whilst there was very good communication surrounding all elements of this race , the issue of injury and insurance I did not feel was emphasised enough and there is no option to back track if you miss this option to take out insurance. If you are not familiar with entering these events your not necessarily aware of these things and what to look out for. I have a given a fair 3 star review which reflects the disappointment of the outcome of loss of entry fee and being unable to take part against otherwise very good communication of the race. However I hope the communication for next year is made very clear for people new to the event that you must take out insurance. I understand from the reviews I have read that it was a good event for those who took part.

Camping was available right next to the start of the event. I didn't camp but could see how close you could be to the start. Lake was fine to swim in, didn't feel ill afterwards. Pulse start is a good choice. Bike course is fast, roads can be rough in places and there are some potholes. I think these could always be made much more visible. Feeding station was standard, a decent selection of fuelling options to keep you going for the 90km. Run course was a mix of offroad and road, well signposted and plenty of marshals. Feeding stations had lots of options. Support was great on the run course, quite a few places were supporters can gravitate to. Couple of spots on the course where it's get a bit more lonely. Freebie kit was pretty basic and doesn't compare to T100 or Ironman. Medal was big and metal.

My second middle distance triathlon and thought it was a brilliant event, would fully recommend to anyone. The lake for the swim was pleasant and mostly weed free, the exit was nice and easy. The bike route included some really nice roads, nice and quiet due to the start time. Big shout out to the marshals and the police who kept all junctions really smooth for those on the bikes! The run course might be where a PB is lost, with a bit of tricky woodland and sharp turns to navigate, plus the pre-race rain had left several slippy parts, but if you just want to enjoy the race (like I did) then the run route is nice and interesting. All in all, wholeheartedly recommend the event and a massive thanks to all those who put the event on.

This was my first attempt at middle/half iron distance and it was amazing. The communication from Graeme pre event was second to none, consistent information and updates , you couldn’t wish for more information. The day itself was impeccably ran, from super friendly and encouraging marshals, the legend that is shouty Dave, and as the last finisher having so many people supporting me as I finally crossed the line was amazing. The course is perfect if this is your first attempt at the distance or pb hunting. 113 events pride themselves on supporting each and every athlete.

This was my first middle distance race, having planned to do some events and been struck by Covid cancellations.

Overall really great race, Graeme and team all excellent. Lots of well timed pre race emails and because of covid a race briefing email.

Easy to find location and £5 to park in a field close to the event. Well organised getting into transition with spots marked and picking up swim hat and timing chip from your transition spot.

Swim was split into 10 min waves with then swimmers set off from chutes at 5 sec intervals (Covid)... I quite liked this start format, saved the usual fight from a mass start. Lovely lake to swim in and fairly easy to navigate round buoys.

Bike course is fast and very flat, number of roads appeared recently resurfaced and although few potholes they were all marked. It is open roads but very little traffic and the marshals and police did a great job of closing roundabouts to cross and junctions etc. Quite a bit of local support out on the course as well. One aid station which you hit twice with high 5 products available and bottle drops

Run course, 3 lap course of mixed terrain. It had rained during the bike and expected some mud but actually it drained really well and was a good course, some narrow bits and areas where overtaking not possible which was only downside really of the run route, very picturesque around lake . 3 aid stations with high 5 gels and water. Lots of people out supporting at various points on the course.

On all the legs the marshals were excellent, shouting support and encouragement and there was

Cracking medal at the end, t shirt and goody bag. Brilliant event and exceptional value for money compared to the bigger brands. Real mixed field and this def suited me doing my first middle as well as those fast types going for the PB.

Would def do this or another 113 event in future.

I signed up for this race very late, & really didn’t know what to expect.

The event didn’t disappoint.

The communication was impeccable from start to finish. This included online briefings, very clear course & parking instructions & most importantly very clear & well thought out with Covid guidelines.

As an event team, these guys not only documented their processes well. They actually followed them to the letter on the day, keeping staff, pubic, and competitors as safe possible whilst still managing to retain that event buzz atmosphere.

The event itself was floorless with plenty of encouragement from the marshals on route.

This is a very fast flat course & suits all ability levels.

Thank you once again for a perfectly executed event.

Well organised, especially in the covid situation. Lots of pre-race communication which was good. Nice flat course, good for beginners and those who want a fast time. My only real disapointment was the goodie bag. I don't know if it was because of covid but all that was in the bag was a bottle of water, a t-shirt and a buff. After a long race you just want some food - crisps, a bar, something sweet.

The communication beforehand and on the morning was superb. The course was exceedingly well marshalled and signposted... the energy from the marshals was incredible.
