This is definitely a bucket list event to do, it is tough but so very rewarding. It starts on the Conwy Bridge which was new for this year and much better as there was plenty of room for all the runners and you have the Beautiful Conwy castle as your back drop, a great photo opportunity. Then you are off to the cheers of the large crowd, turning left at the end of the bridge onto a wide road with plenty of room for all the runners. this road is then coned off down the middle so the ruuners can run on the left hand side of the road and the traffic can use the right side of the road but being a sunday morning it is not to busy. Then you are onto the first of many hills, you are then heading towards the golf course and a down nice downhill stretch, then it's onto a small road bridge and then once you are around the corner you get your first glimpse of the Great Orme, on towards the coast you go, now then up the next hill and you hear the wonderful sound of the Drummers before you reach the top of the hill and you get to see Llandudno as you head down the hill towards the sea, then a sharp right and you pass the famous pier and then you are in for a great treat and a major test of your fitness as you head up the beautifully stunning Great Orme. There are lots of photo opportunities along this stretch, you are running up the steep Orme now and then relief it's a bit of a level bit of road then back to climbing and then round the bend and oh yes it's a downhill bit of road oh what a treat, but now it's the business part of the run as it's the steepest part you are now looking for the Cafe as this marks the highest part of your run and yes this is where the photographer is waiting to take your picture. Now it's time to look after your knees and quads as it's a long way down hill back to the Coastal road, but the views are breathtaking. You are now retracing the route back to Conwy but now that nice downhill run by the golf course is now a uphill stretch and it seems to last for ever but its your last bit of test. It 's all eyes looking for the castle now and that finish line it's a slightly different route back onto the bridge then you are on the bridge heading towards the castle and the wonderful crowd are all willing you on to the finishing line and then you are done finished on the pretty quayside where you are given a bottle of water a lovely medal and a quality tshirt. you now have the he opportunity to buy a tech tshirt or a hoodie. This is a well organised and very friendly event it's definetly a must do race. With wonderful, helpful and supportive marshals and great support from the locals.

The Conwy half marathon has been on my list of events for a couple of years now.
I got there about an hour before the race started. Parking was a little troublesome but I found a space about a 15 minute walk from the start. Not too much of an issue and the walk through the town was nice. There were a lot of nice little shops to stop in for a coffee should you wish.
Once I got to the start the queues for the toilets were massive, so I skipped that and just went to the start area.
I couldn't really hear the announcements at the start but no problem, I was planning on racing the event too hard.
The race is quite hilly and the climb up the Orme requires you to save something in the tank. Thankfully I did as I knew it was coming and so didn't go out too hard.
The route was fantastic and the views amazing. The race fee was worth it just for that.
I finished the event in a mi h qui ker time than expected and if it was a flat course I would have easily ran a PB.
The medal at the end was great but the goody bag didn't really extend much further than a cotton t-shirt. Not an issue for me really as the cost probably went towards making the event happen.
An event I would definitely do again and I'll be recommending it to other runners who like a bit of a challenge.

Quite simply one of the UKs best half marathons!
Beautiful scenery, spectacular views, challenging ups, fast downs and nice medal!
The funnels could be improved before and after the race.
Definitely booking next year!
