First time at this event and that too during a pandemic. Naturlly there were no crowds and spectators could only come if they live in the same household. Everything was well prepared and made to feel safe - everyone started off in 5- 10 second intervals so no crowding or bottlnecks anywhere. All the event briefing was done by email and a short video days before hand.  On the day everyone wore masks on site and maintained social distancing. It was really well managed and good to do this - the one and only event in 2020 for me.

I don't really enjoy off road running, but the loop was unusual, all single tracks and around the edges of farm land. Quiet yet scenic and peaceful. The bike route was on the surrounding country roads with some light traffic. Plenty of warning signs to warn motorists and marshalls at all main corners and juctions to help manage the traffic and enable you to cycle non-stop. The route took us through Clumber Park and made it enjoyable with a long quiet tree lined road.

After collecting the medal, there was no reason to hang about and so I didn't use the onsite catering. It was low key event, with only around 300 in the sprint distance. Overall a good race with some seriously good athletes from all over the country.

This is the first time I've raced at Clumber, although I did spectate here last year! I did the Standard Distance (10km/40km/5km) and it's a tough course with 'rolling' run and bike routes. The run course was pretty congested on the first run and the bike was busy but just about manageable. Although results weren't available on the day due to an internet issue, they were emailed out early the following morning. The only real annoyance from this race was the condition of the roads - there wasn't much smooth road at all on the bike course and people constantly dodging potholes made for an interesting bike ride...

All in all I enjoyed this race and hopefully will do it again next year!

My second year at this sprint distance duathlon & didn't disappoint. Nice location, generally pleasant atmosphere with good mix of competitors. The undulating run was harder than I remembered & although the wind had dropped it was still strong enough to make life difficult on the home stretch back in the grounds of Clumber Park. Some road surfaces less than ideal but we all experience that on most rides/events & not too much traffic to contend with. There was a 10 minute delayed start, perhaps due to the number of later arrivals? Not sure, but no big issue for me as was fairly mild so not stood freezing! Also problem with the official timings but again of no great concern, satisfied, delayed gratification to find out that I'd slightly improved upon last year's time :-)

Well signed throughout both the run and bike course, good race briefing beforehand, marshals are encouraging and lovely place to race.

Clumber park is easy to find plenty of sign posts for it there was a long que to park which made the race start 10 mins late registration was easy to find but there were some long ques there as well which was another reason the race started late . The race briefing was like normal explaining the laps routes saftey points . The race it's self is well organised you go off in waves which help the course not get to cluttered with people . The first 5k run is simple run out 2.5k turn around then come back there is a water station on the run near the start where the standard distance do another lap.The run isn't flat but it's not hilly either so it will be fine for all abilities. You then run into a big transition area get your bike and be on your way coming out of t1 was a bit of a pain as people stop dead on the line to mount this area isn't very wide which made a flying mount a bit difficult but do able.  The bike course it's self is simple to follow it's a loop around the outside of the park and well sign posted some of the roads outside are not in the best condition lots of pot holes and poor tarmac like the run course its not flat there are minor hills but nothing difficult then back round to t2 to park the bike and go for another run this time it's 2.5k and there is a turn at 1.25k the course is a little busier as the standard guys are on the course doing there first run . At the end of the run you go through the finish line there are some smiling get people handing out water and sports drinks only in little cups and you can also get a free pint of erdinger which is alkoholfrei.  Unfortunately there were no results at the end of the race (this happened last year as well ) I'm not sure if there was a problem with the timing people's equipment?  Other than the late start and no results it's a good race and worth doing .

This year it was a European qualifier again which meant that there were a number of high level athletes present. The course was the same as normal with out and back runs featuring some small hills and a 'rolling' bike course. Great atmosphere, I'll be coming back next year.

Well organised, nice rolling route. Good atmosphere and well subscribed. Cold but dry with no significant wind made for fast'ish times I suspect...

First time I have had to leave a less-than-glowing review for a race, unfortunately.

It was an expensive race to enter, and then to find that this was exclusive of the extortionate £7 car parking charge (to park 12 minutes away from registration and start areas) was another downer to the day. The registration process was fast however, thankfully, as due to the long queues to get into the car park (20+ minutes) and then the long walk to transition (12 mins), time was short.

Run however was beautiful, only thing would be to make it a loop not a lap, so to explore more of the park?
