Fantastic event in Lincoln, well organised and the support was amazing and great to see. The amount of competitors was vast and delayed the start but overall it was a memorable 1st event in Lincoln.

Generally, the race was good - good support levels on course, lots of good pre-race information, good course. However, the toilet provision felt lacking this year (compared to past years). There was also severe congestion with getting to the start line (I attempted this 25 minutes before the start time) - runners were caught in an extreme bottleneck with no staff on site to manage this - frankly this could have been dangerous, especially when the bag drop lorries were then forced through the crowd. It appeared this had happened as there were very few openings to get into the starting areas. This congestion then continued beyond the start line, with two very narrow lanes, reducing ability to get started properly. Equally at the finish line the exit into Castle Square was very crowded as lots of runner tried to squeeze through a narrow exit into an area with lots of the public waiting - again very few staff to manage. Finally the bag drop is a looooooong way from the finish line - hope that you've still got some energy left! Overall, I'd recommend this race, but be prepared to do things (toilet, go to start) sooner than you might normally.

Some minor issues, but still a race worth participating in. Biggest issue for me is the position of the start line. A lot of runners all bottlenecked out of Yarborough Leisure centre. Feel if the start line wasn’t directly outside the exit, runners wouldn’t congregate there. W...

Some minor issues, but still a race worth participating in. Biggest issue for me is the position of the start line. A lot of runners all bottlenecked out of Yarborough Leisure centre. Feel if the start line wasn’t directly outside the exit, runners wouldn’t congregate there. Was very over crowded and risk of injury. Would make more sense to move the start line by 200m one way and have a filter system so sub 40 runners go right and longer than 40 minute runners go left.

It's painfully obvious that a lot of these more expensive races just never have enough toilets. In this instance, it appeared that the 10 minute delay to the race starting was due to many, many people making their way to the start line incredibly late and as far as I could tell, it was because people had been stood in the toilet queue for half an hour. For a £30 10k where the marshalls and finish staff are all volunteers, you'd think there would be enough money in the £100k+ gross income from race entries to sort out enough toilets for the race to start on time. It leaves a sour taste in the mouth when it feels like all you're really paying for is to have the closed roads (which obviously costs money but based on information on the Lincoln city council site, there would still be enough left to provide more toilets). The course was good and felt pretty fast. The support on the route from the local community was great. I just wish the race organisation was better. The goody bag was pretty lacklustre and the T-shirt is an additional extra cost, so if you're bothered about those kind of things just be aware of that.

In this day and age I think you need to start doing plant based options in the goody bags. Not everyone can eat products containing dairy! Please also consider using paper bags instead of plastic. There were a few corners around roundabouts where lanes were too thin and peopl...

In this day and age I think you need to start doing plant based options in the goody bags. Not everyone can eat products containing dairy! Please also consider using paper bags instead of plastic. There were a few corners around roundabouts where lanes were too thin and people were almost clipping peoples heels to get around the bends. Whilst I was not one of the participants that did this, my partner spotted a lot of people being sick after the race but just on the floor. Maybe provide some sort of easy access sick bags as it was spotted that no first aiders checked on these people.

Course congestion-the start was totally chaotic. It was delayed by 10 minutes and there was no way I could get to my correct time slot. I had to start at the back as the barriers prevented me joining at the correct time Facilities - the provision of toilets for over 4000 runners...

Course congestion-the start was totally chaotic. It was delayed by 10 minutes and there was no way I could get to my correct time slot. I had to start at the back as the barriers prevented me joining at the correct time Facilities - the provision of toilets for over 4000 runners was pitiful. I stood in the queue for 45 minutes and missed the bag drop as it closed 8:40 and I had to make choice between getting my bag in bag drop and trying to rejoin an ever lengthening loo queue. Therefore I had to run carrying my bag! If the start hadn’t been delayed I would probably missed the start all together. Event logistics - The parking was fine before the race. After that it was a long way back with absolutely no clue which way to go. We only found the way by asking other people. I enjoyed the route, but I think the race is over subscribed without logistics to support it.
