Generally, the race was good - good support levels on course, lots of good pre-race information, good course. However, the toilet provision felt lacking this year (compared to past years). There was also severe congestion with getting to the start line (I attempted this 25 minutes before the start time) - runners were caught in an extreme bottleneck with no staff on site to manage this - frankly this could have been dangerous, especially when the bag drop lorries were then forced through the crowd. It appeared this had happened as there were very few openings to get into the starting areas. This congestion then continued beyond the start line, with two very narrow lanes, reducing ability to get started properly. Equally at the finish line the exit into Castle Square was very crowded as lots of runner tried to squeeze through a narrow exit into an area with lots of the public waiting - again very few staff to manage. Finally the bag drop is a looooooong way from the finish line - hope that you've still got some energy left!
Overall, I'd recommend this race, but be prepared to do things (toilet, go to start) sooner than you might normally.
