Loved the whole vibe of the day. It was super relaxed and friendly - both with the staff and fellow runners (riders & swimmers we saw along the way). I know laps aren't for everyone but I thought the course was great - the variety of scenery and terrain meant the 6 loops didn't ...

Loved the whole vibe of the day. It was super relaxed and friendly - both with the staff and fellow runners (riders & swimmers we saw along the way). I know laps aren't for everyone but I thought the course was great - the variety of scenery and terrain meant the 6 loops didn't feel too bad. I even managed the hill 6 times over. Also, seeing the same marshals at each feeding/navigational point helped to break the run up due to the banter we had with them. The fuelling options gave a good variety of options and the final feast table - lush! The only thing our little trio had a real issue with was the heat, and you can't do anything about that! I'm hoping to be back to do the event again as it is so close to me, and might even spread my wings and try another course because it was so well organised and so different to the big marathon events I've done. Thank you to the whole team!

Great communication from the event team before the run and really good organisation on the day. Well stocked water stations with water and isotonic drink, and loads of fresh fruit at the end. The marshals were outstanding, very friendly, funny, and encouraging, and you get to kno...

Great communication from the event team before the run and really good organisation on the day. Well stocked water stations with water and isotonic drink, and loads of fresh fruit at the end. The marshals were outstanding, very friendly, funny, and encouraging, and you get to know them well as the marathon is 6 laps around the course. The course itself is challenging - hilly and multi terrain with a mix of farm roads, fields, woodland and gravel areas and lots of it is exposed, which on a sunny day adds to the challenge. You will also run a lot of it with no crowd support, as most spectators gathered at the event village area. Some of the course is quite narrow, so if there are a few of you, it gets a little congested. Overall, stunning scenery, a challenging marathon and great organisation throughout.

A good event week organised and marshalled,the course was set in an amazing very picturesque.The course was challenging and made tougher with the hot weather but support was good with plenty of fluid intake available from the many water/nutrition stations,very helpful marshalling...

An amazing running event I’ve never ran a course with so many water stations and the finish was brilliant with lots of recovery fruit and I’ve also never s ‘em an event with sponges to put on your head I believe that every event needs this. I’ve trail hunted round cholmodley before but I could really enjoy the views. The only problem I faced on lap 5 going down a steep hill on grass had a lot of congestion and there wasn’t much room for me to get passed and I couldn’t stop either and nearly ran into some people but apart from that course was perfect safety perfect and the medal looked great

First time at a Castle Race event. Lovely location, great event atmosphere and very well organised. Lots of event information leading up to the event so impossible to miss anything out. Event marshals gave encouragement all along the route . I will definitely do an event again ...

Fantastic atmosphere - well organized, great aid stations, super friendly staff and marshalls. The whole family had an amazing day. The announcer was great as was everything else. Highly recommend the Castle Series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event. The location, the course the marshalls and support were all second to none. The race village was very relaxed and festival like. Really unique. My only issue was the goodie bag and winners prizes. I think it would have been good for all top 3...

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event. The location, the course the marshalls and support were all second to none. The race village was very relaxed and festival like. Really unique. My only issue was the goodie bag and winners prizes. I think it would have been good for all top 3 to receive a trophy or plaque, not just the winner. Most races reward Gold, Silver and Bronze. Whereas only Gold received a glass plaque, the others only received discount vouchers for next year's race. And there was no goodie bag. The medals were amazing tho. Thanks for a fantastic event.

This was my first time at the event and the race itself was very good. Challenging route and I had to dig deep to finish it with a respectable result. The price to participate in the race was clear to me before I signed up so I was ok with it. However.....I was really unhappy with the fact that I then had to pay over £20 for my wife and kids to come along. In addition to the cost for spectators tickets, they were just allowed entry to an area where they.... again were ripped off by vendors charging £4 for very poor coffee or £11 for toasties. I felt disgusted with that.... I am tired of people desperately trying to make money by inflating the prices at the very same time when those participating are feeling happy with their sporting accomplishments...Just disappointed.....I don't think I will be returning....
