Amazing race. Great communication leading upto the race regarding water temperatures. Super friendly volunteers and people on the course. They make the day that much better. Would it be possible for all people who podium to receive a trophy of some kind instead of vouchers? Maybe could create a miniature castle trophy, biggest for 1st etc. Also optional finisher t-shirt and hoodies would be a great touch.

If your racing to be competitive don't bother. The timing chips were messed up and despite finishing 2nd, I was 4th apparently which is just a joke. This happened in numerous races too. The water was incredibly shallow with people having to walk various parts of the swim and the ...

If your racing to be competitive don't bother. The timing chips were messed up and despite finishing 2nd, I was 4th apparently which is just a joke. This happened in numerous races too. The water was incredibly shallow with people having to walk various parts of the swim and the water is disgusting and black. The run was a nice route but very poorly sign posted.

Great event, very well organised. The sun came out as usual which although lovely, I might of liked to have gone off a little earlier. Totalling understand that there are a lot of events to fit in though. With regards to the medal, I wonder if this is something that could be changed to something more usable. I have been to a swim event before where we have received a towel, a pint glass, travel cup, camping mugs, coasters. Just to lessen the amount of things that may end up in landfill. I totally will be back next year for another event. Thank you for all of your hard work in making such an enjoyable event.

First visit to Cholmondeley Castle and a great event. The camping facilities were excellent and the staff great as always. My first standard distance aquathlon and I possibly overestimated my ability in the heat but I finished and although the water was churned up by this point in the weekend so it was rather muddy, the beautiful run course was in perfect condition.

I took part in the Olympic distance aquathlon. The swim is in a lake and because it was so warm, no wetsuits! This was a bit of a worry but all went well. I appreciated having the Austrialian swim exit as it guaranteed a bit of a break half way round. The shores of the lake are weedy and muddy. Not ideal. I must have looked like a creature emerging from the primordial swamp at the swim exit! The run is a lovely picturesque, 2 lap course. It is well marshalled with 2 water stations. There was a good atmosphere around the finish line and the buffet table was a nice touch. It is quite expensive to enter even when entering with a black Friday discount. I was a bit miffed to then have to pay an extra £6 for a BTF day licence. Perhaps this cost could have been included (even hidden) in the entry fee. Lots of quality pre-race information and it was good to see the Race Director busy at the swim start. I'd do another Castle Race series event again.
