This event exceeded expectations Brilliant campsite next to swim start. Stunning location and super peaceful chill out the night before the event. This has to be the most family friendly and inclusive multi sport event I have ever been to. The kids competing today were simply awesome and the atmosphere was so relaxed that they just had the very best time. The marshals were super helpful and friendly. Next year I want to bring my whole family - over the 2 days there is something for everyone.

My first Aquabike event, was last out of the water but I don’t care because I had a lovely chat with one of the canoeist who stayed with me for most of the course. Didn’t get his name but he was brilliant, he has twin sons and is from Wigan, he was amazing and made me feel very safe. Lake was a bit shallow, didn’t like the mud eeww. Didn’t ruin the event though. I liked the fruit snacks at the end when you finish, great idea. Will do again next year.

Incredibly well organised event. Everything was seamless, and the Marshalls were excellent and very friendly. Tough course which makes it more fun, only negative was that water in the lake was a little low due to the lack of rain for the past two months.

Enjoyed the race, very well organised overall and a good atmosphere. Superb location. Bike course isn’t as simple as you might think, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it on a TT bike due to some dodgy road surfaces, narrow lanes, tight angle corners and the occasional crossing race ...

Enjoyed the race, very well organised overall and a good atmosphere. Superb location. Bike course isn’t as simple as you might think, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it on a TT bike due to some dodgy road surfaces, narrow lanes, tight angle corners and the occasional crossing race horse(!), but marshalling at the potentially dangerous crossing point was very well done. Agree with some others on here about the Aussie exit which is unnecessary and for me just really disrupts the swim for aqua bikers with bad knees especially. Had to wander around to try and get my finisher medal and give my tag back etc.

My second castle series race, but first one at this venue. Swim was a nice straightforward out and back. Bike course really nice, just the right amount of uphill challenge and some nice breezy downhill stretches! Well marshalled and signed. Just a bit held up behind cars waiting to turn right into car park due to oncoming traffic, but it's a road so not unexpected. Advance video briefings a real plus to save stress on the day. Check in/ registration time slots worked perfectly . Slight issue with my cycle time initially only showing one lap was resolved instantly by Stu. Only negative for me is the spectator charge, but I guess removing it would mean an increase in competitor entry fees. Thanks for a great race! See you at Belvoir in a few weeks ( not looking forward to that hill climb 😅) Thanks for a great race.

I don’t mind an ‘Aussie exit/entry’ but 100 metres is a bit much. I’m an Aquabiker for a reason, would prefer 2 laps in the water, seemed like there was plenty of space to do that. Bike course was ok in general although doing a figure of 8 meant crossing other racing cyclist 3 ti...

I don’t mind an ‘Aussie exit/entry’ but 100 metres is a bit much. I’m an Aquabiker for a reason, would prefer 2 laps in the water, seemed like there was plenty of space to do that. Bike course was ok in general although doing a figure of 8 meant crossing other racing cyclist 3 times on 3 laps, not ideal. Finish line for us could have been organised better, felt like an afterthought. Overall a well run event, organisation good, Marshall’s good, prizes good. I’ll be back 👍

I absolutely loved the whole event from start to finish, although slightly disappointed that the rewards ceremony for the females was announced to the 1st and 2nd female leaving 3rd place (my place) out! All other categories got announced up to third place. After my partner made a bit of a fuss they did realise and presented me with my 3rd podium position although the photo opportunity had gone and left to stand on.my own on the Podium!

Loved being able to start with fellow aquabike competitors instead of mixed in with the tri guys. Swim was OK, water very murky but it's a lake so....Still baffled as why the aussie exit is needed, I do aquabikes due to my inability to run, the aussie exit made this hard work. Canoe team fantastic. Dissapointing the commentator did not stay around to welcome swimmers back in the water as per the previous tri before ours. Bike course great, a truly rolling course, aid station fantastic. The finish is always a funny one with aquabikes and this was no different unfortunately. Commentators had no idea who we were crossing the line so didn't get our name read out like others - easily fixed by having a dedicated mat for aquabikers to go over instead of just hopping in at a space in the fence. Some improvements for the discipline needed but a very good event in all. Thank you.
