I loved it! I’m not fast but still lots of support from the Marshalls. It’s very hilly though so I was tired. I loved the food and drink afterwards too!

Great event but the bike and hill course hard and transition too far away for children really. All the support staff were brilliant, would do it again! Great treat station at the end too!

This is a well organised event and good atmosphere, its the 5th time my son has done it and the 7th Castle race. It is without question the best triathlon of the summer on the most demanding course( the kids cycle course is more demanding than the adults 20k plus on road courses - most adults would not entertain the difficultly of the off road course ). BUT the prizes for the 2nd year running were just a bag of sponsers goods and very disappointing. Pink socks for boys, money off message oils etc. What happened to the glass trophies given out in 2019 ? £38 entry fee and very demanding course the very least we could expect is a small trophy. My son was underwelmed and extremely dissapointed.

Two adults and Three of my kids did castle Howard tri this year. Eldest is in (15-16)juniors, swim was ok (a lot of weed) bike this year was off road (last year it was supposed to be closed roads however even in my sons pictures there are cars behind him!) however it was not made clear it was off-road until fairly close to race. I appreciate you can’t make everyone happy, some will say not safe on road, some will say better off road… unfortunately my son doesn’t cycle off road at all, and broke his gravel bike handbar, luckily managed to finish. Is there no way of doing laps on estate roads? The run was the usual challenging Howard hills. My middle child faired better, although she still found the bike and run course tough. My youngest child again, found it tough, he has a mountain bike. Sadly all the childrens races are in the afternoon, so have many fewer spectators, and admittedly the weather didn’t help either. Please change the holding section at the bottom of the hill, I understand you don’t want loads of people registering early, but when you have families that are doing multiple races, the hill from the carpark to registration hurts….! We loved this weekend, it was great we could all take part. Thank you castle race series it is a great start to the summer!

My son fell off his bike which was a shame as he had a competitive swim. His bike was damaged so he couldn’t continue. The care he received for his (relatively minor)injuries was excellent and everyone was very kind to him which was very reassuring . We love this event but both he (TS3) and my youth daughter competitor did not like the bike section which they said was better last year - so wanted to feed this back. Otherwise thanks for a fabulous weekend.

I fell off on the bike and was well looked after. Found the course a little dangerous, another 2 people fell off in my race, 1 on the same corner I did.
