It's hard to find the words to explain quite how incredible this event is - but 'life-affirming' is about as close as it comes. From the pre-race communications, which were informative and exciting but succinct, to a meticulously orgainsed registration afternoon and post race transport, to camp life which was extraordinarily well organised - the attention to detail from Ourea to every aspect of the race was 10/10. With a highly capable medical team, and attentive race control, you feel as safe as possible to go to some of the country's most remote places. The team have thought of everything. The food at camp is just so much better than I could have ever expected, and there is plenty of it! And from a woman's perspective, it is awesome that Ourea take safety and welfare seriously, making a point of emphasising this in race briefing - much appreciated. And then of course, the route itself... I cannot recommend it more highly. The scenery and terrain is extraordinary, with vista after vista drawing you along. Great varied terrain, and the final day as you reach the ocean that you've been skirting for the last 7 is simply beautiful. One of the best things I've ever done - bravo Ourea!

Fantastic scenery on route. An amazing experience all round. Probably most memorable week of my life. River crossings would be challenging in wet years - but excellent advice given by OUREA on crossing techniques.

Ourea events are experts in creating events that are logistical nightmares. The detail that goes into organising these events is incredible. The Cape Wrath route is breathtaking with some of the best scenery I have seen anywhere in the World. The remoteness of the race combined with the rugged terrain make it a very tough but rewarding race and completing it gives you a real sense of achievement. The camaraderie developed with other runners you share the tents with and people you run with and relax with after each day make it a really friendly and welcoming place. Combined with the amazing staff, volunteers and medics that can’t do enough for you to ensure your enjoyment. Also the food each morning at the end of each day is top notch.

Fantastic organization that cannot be praised enough! They do anything and everything for the racers to help them succeed no matter the format or distance you’re running. They have awesome volunteers that help where possible; food, checkpoints, medic, guidance,… Their medical team is excellent in taking care of sprains, blisters, trench foot, you name it. During the event there’s also no doubt you make friends for life, whether it’s during the race, at one of the meals or in your tent. Definitely racing again with this organization, and I highly recommend them!

I travelled from OS for this event not really knowing what to expect and I was so impressed. The course was great, but more impressive was the support, organisation, catering and camaraderie. I have signed up to go back and have a crack at the full distance!!

This was the start to my sabbatical, and I couldn’t have chosen a better adventure. Outstanding in all areas - course, organisation, people, safety, obviously not cheap but truly excellent value for money. WHAT.A.RACE. Hugely grateful for the incredible experience.

Every day a veritable tent village was built from scratch so that everything was waiting for us when we arrived. The route is incredibly beautiful and very varied. It was also for me a brutal test of endurance. It was certainly an adventure that I will never forget! I highly recommend this race.

I set out to do the Explorer option from the outset, to include the "longer half" options on each of the option days (2-6). In the event I did more than I intended, partly because I was enjoying myself so much, and partly because of the fine weather ~ completing 4 full-length days. I'm very well pleased with the event, my performance, and raising over £6,000 for my chosen good cause through Justgiving; a lot more than the original £750 target. Folk around the world were following me on the live tracker, as far away as Tasmania and, I've just learned, from Borneo. This helped me, helped to make folk from afar feel involved in the event, and gave a real momentum to the fund raising efforts. Amazing!
