My first time doing this event. Arrived in plenty of time, easy to park in one of the official car parks and then a short walk to the Sports Hall HQ. Number collection didn’t take too long but I did notice that the hall filled up quickly and there were big, slow queues to collect numbers and that then made it difficult to get through to the bag drop area and back out again. As always, at this type of event there never seem to be enough loos. Great course though on good solid tracks and quiet roads. The marshals were excellent and it was nice to get an immediate print out of finish time and position.

The parking is inadequate and then there were huge queues to register which meant the race had to be delayed. This is probably due to the number of entrants being too many for the surroundings and infrastructure. Massive queues for toilets. Five days after the race the team results have not been published and there are no photos published so the post-race stuff has been slow, although the actual individual results were available almost immediately.

Undulating course with just the right balance of challenging climbs and welcome inclines. Nice route and scenery, well organised and excellent registration and base camp location. Cars can be a nuisance on the narrow roads but generally doesn’t cause any issues. Very well attended and a well organised start/finish setup. I ran this in 2020 and this year, 2023 and will be back for 2024, all going well.

Quite a hilly route in places, but a beautiful route through the countryside too. Very well organised race with a nice medal.

Beautiful scenic route with a few hills thrown in for good measure. Would definitely do it again.

First time running this race and loved it. Race HQ was nice and easy to get to and I had no trouble getting my race number and dropping off my bag. Hall was nice and warm and there were hot drinks, snacks and massages available both before and after the race. I would say if you can get there before nine after which the queues for registration and bag drop were quite long, marshals were doing a great job though! Start of the race was well sign posted however there seemed to be a lack of a countdown which was a little disappointing. The race itself was amazing. It might be because I am so used to running in London but the scenery was amazing and it was so nice to have such great views whilst running. There are a few hills especially round miles 4 and 7 but it was an enjoyable race. The first water station was fine however the second one has pretty much run out of cups so didn't manage to get a drink so hopefully next year they'll re-plan that. Since it is run mostly in the countryside there isn't much local support, few dogs walkers shout out encouragement every now and again but you'll be so busy enjoying the views that you won't notice the silence at all! Nice little lead up to the finish with an announcer calling out people finishing which is a nice little touch. Great medal and you get a bottle of water and a snack as well. Queue to retrieve your bags was long however didn't wait long at all due to super speedy marshals! Overall a fantastic race for the price and one that I would be happy to return to!

Raced this twice before but not last year. We found a place to park in a street about 400 metre walk away from the sports centre. Big new looking hall packed with runners. Collecting race pack was quick & easy. Bag drop was a shambles. A large area but only one table to take bag too. NO bag tag in race pack so everyone had to queue for a tag to have your number put on it, then attach it. Caused long, confusing queues, needs sorting. Everything else went well.

Only 1c with sleet later on so we left the hall a few minutes before the start. the various hills soon warmed you up, with the last nasty kicker being around mile 8 just after crossing a road. The marshalls were good and plentiful so no trouble finding your way. The route is call engine but very enjoyable and includes some hard, muddy track, early and late on. Drink stations were minimally stocked but adequate. The finishing straight is much better than the last year I ran it, as it was straight about 300 metres so perfect for a sprint finish. I got an unexpected PB & 2nd in age group so happy. Photo shows my wife Jacqui & I wearing our racecheck visors at the start.

Saw excellent trophies for winners, overall well organised (apart from the bag drop) & a good feeling to complete a course that can't be called easy

Drove to race, Bright signage to car parks with Marshall to guide us. Big warm sports hall with plenty of loo’s and good drinks facilities. Safe bag drop within the sports hall. Race route was outstanding when used to pounding pavement in SE London! Beautiful countryside. Safe clear route. Plenty of Marshall’s. Several locals on route  cheering. Would have liked bottled water at the water stations as drinking from a plastic cup is difficult when running! Coming back into a warm hall after it had been snowing on route was great and being able to change after a run in the warm is a bonus. I would definitely recommend this run to anyone.

The new HQ was ideal and perfect and the race looked like it had improved.

However the mist was really bad, making it hard to see more than a few metres in front, which cant be helped. However Marshals did not stop the traffic and I had many cars drive past me and other runners, they were speeding down the road. I also found that at one point when I came to a junction a marshal had no idea how to hold the traffic which was dangerous while runners where turning. I know a fellow runner who was watching had to jump in and help. Hopefully this will be sorted for next year.

I was still happy with my PB as I enjoy this local race
