This was my first SVN race and I had heard good things about them. It lived up to expectations. There seem to be a number of regulars who take part so felt like a nice community of runners supporting each other and not competing against each other. It was nice to pick what distance you wanted to do on the day, I used the race as a long training run as part of my marathon training. The route was scenic and harder than I had expected- it was quite hilly. I liked the bake off as part of the race, it was fun to see what creations people made and win a little trophy. All in all a simple, friendly event and I will definitely be back for another.

Myself and other half had previously booked for another Saxon Shore event but due to illness and injury we had to pull out and swapped to this event. We may have been spoilt with the glorious weather but the venue for this event is pretty stunning, 4.4 miles laps do as many as few as you want in 8 hr time limit, loads of cake and other refreshements on offer, all the volunteers were friendly, smiley and some had been there since the start and happy to see you every time.

Brilliantly organised and everyone was so lovely. Really tough course with the hills but the scenery was stunning. Will definitely be back again.
