Absolutely wonderful experience running the muddy Caerphilly 10k! Super well organised event - this was my first ever trail race and even for a newbie like me everything was clear and nothing left for guesswork. And on the day the support and organisation was absolutely brilliant...

Super well organised event - this was my first ever trail race and even for a newbie like me everything was clear and nothing left for guesswork. And on the day the support and organisation was absolutely brilliant. So much fun, amazing vibes, smiles all around. The beautiful wooden medal and pastries at the end were just the cherry on top! 10/10. Will be back for more ASAP!

A first real trail run for me & what a brilliant one to start with. Loved it from start to finish. The conditions made it tough going at times with the mud but if anything it all made it far more fun! Literally turned back into being a kid splashing through muddy puddles & stream...
A first real trail run for me & what a brilliant one to start with. Loved it from start to finish. The conditions made it tough going at times with the mud but if anything it all made it far more fun! Literally turned back into being a kid splashing through muddy puddles & streams (minus my wellies ) what better way to spend a Sunday morning! The support staff were so encouraging & all of the runners made it one of the best experiences I’ve had while running! Please, please organise this run again next year, I will 100% be there!!

For me. Dennis Collins it was a fantastic experience..the course was amazing..I eore racing trainers with no grip so my few trips and falls were hilarious and expected with great support from other runners..
The only mention is getting your number for me it was good but for 10k...

The only mention is getting your number for me it was good but for 10k runners it was tooo slow..
Just a suggestion that you could do is have a few people and each one will deal with surnames so first one will do a to e surnames and next one f to k and so on. In big races they can see over a thousand in a short period.. but for me best race for a long time. Pure fun...plus the canicross fabulous

One of the best route's I've run, awesome single track, good elevation & great views. The signage could have been better, a large group of us canicross got lost at the beginning of the race which ment that the runners caught us up quickly & made their race potentially more challenging due to having to pass so many of us.
The race briefing would have been better prior to going to the start line as it was difficult to hear anything that was said due to all the dogs barking. This was Ridge Runners 1st time allowing canicross & hopefully they'll allow us to take part in more of their races.
Overall I loved the day, the route was awesome & I would definitely take part in another of Ridge Runners races.

This was without a doubt the best 10K race I have entered....the single track was awesome and myself and my dogs absolutely loved it, even with all the mud! A great mix of single track through woods with small sections of open running and some fire road..a bit of everything.

This was without a doubt the best 10K race I have entered....the single track was awesome and myself and my dogs absolutely loved it, even with all the mud! A great mix of single track through woods with small sections of open running and some fire road..a bit of everything.
Unfortunately, all and I mean "all" the canicrossers got lost around 1km into the race and missed the small blue flag and we all ended up walking around a field looking for markers for about 10minutes...it really needed a change of direction arrow not just a small flag. It was only as when we were all making our way back to the start that we noticed the correct way and off we started again. I think this delay didn't help when the non canicross front runners then set off and were then on our heels earlier than they would normally have been.
All the above is meant purely as constructive criticism and I said above we absolutely loved the whole event and we can't wait for the next one!

Some of the best cross country trails I have experienced, a good mix of technical single track with nice elevation changes. Changing the Canicross briefing to the start area didn't work as I could hardly hear what was said because of the barking dogs. Would have been better to have the briefing at the registration area, leaving enough time for people to get their dogs, make their way to the start area and warm up prior to the race. The small blue flags whilst fine for marking a straight route, when there was a turn they are easily missed, should be a sign on a stake at turn points/or on trees like you did later in the course. On more than one occasion when entering open fields over stiles it wasn't immediately apparent which way to go. Unfortunately for us (me & the pooches) this somewhat spoilt our race and the day as a whole, as it meant us going off course on a couple of occasions.

The weather made for an even more fun and challenging course and was by far the most enjoyable race I have ever taken part in.
I will definitely be entering this race again next year!!

60 this year and my first organised 10k.Felt a little imposter syndrome arriving at the event.Needn,t have worried at all.Everyone was so friendly and helpful.Course was stunning and the difficult conditions for me added to the fun and the challenge.Will be doing another Ridge Runners event without doubt.Was a que to register but i think that was just down to people trying to find parking.

Only fault I would say is that you couldn't get your race number before the day, so it lead to big queues at the last moment and the 10k started 20 mins late because of this. Also, at the beginning of the race, the organiser was no loud enough at all on the microphone, so there was some messages said before the race, but I honestly have no idea what he said. That said, the course was very fun, with a good mix of obstacles, just one or two places that were single file and made it a little difficult to get past people without having to ask.
