I did the summer one last year, but first time on the Winter.
This is an absolute must do race for me, brilliant venue and facilities, superb organisation and what a toughie ! That Sting in the Tail is, well...enough said.
This year, it started snowing about half way round, and continued until the end, leaving 2-3 inches on the ground even at the start altitude.
Finishing up and being given a thermal mug for hot soup is outstanding - I love my bling, but this was the best ever ! Awesome idea.
There are also shower facilities at the centre, so perfect to warm and clean up afterwards before heading off to wherever you go.

The race takes place in a well known park with an excellent visitor centre and facilities. Registration was simple and quick. You received your buff beforehand which was handy considering the poor weather we had :D
Race breifing was very thorough.
The started wasn't tiered but the race breifing gave guidance on how to position yourself to maximise your time.
The course is hilly with obver 2300 feet of climb all through the woodland and tracks. There were some very narrow woodland tracks which were technical so care is needed.
The marshalls were fantastic and gave superb support and guidance. I don't remember any aid stations but theat may be due to me looking at the stunning views rather than anything else.
You received a thermal mug rather than a medal filled with hot soup or drink. Good quality. The cafe on site was quick to seve additioanl food and drinks.
Parking was ample and even the snow didn't affect driving off the site.
An excellent trail race in a stunning area for a bargain price. Certainly recommended.
