I've volunteered for this triathlon for the last two years, and I've always wanted to complete it. The volunteers are of course wonderful and friendly, but I knew that anyway. The water quality isn't wonderful, but that probably adds to the challenge. The bike ride is on closed roads and apart from one uphill was enjoyable. The run is definitely offf road but worth it for the views... 

Yes I'll be back next year, but I'll be back volunteeering, but wearing my t-shirt with pride...

This was the second year I have done this race. I came back having done it for the first time last year. Once again it was a brilliant event. The swim is a nice loop followed by an uphill run to transition then a further uphill run to the mount line. Typical Brownlee's, it has to involve hills! The bike course is on closed roads and is fast but with a nice little climb at the end of each lap. The run takes you through the woods of the estate. Yet again there are a few more hills to make it that little more challenging. In summary, I will back again next year. The event is fantastic and the course from start to finish is brilliant to race on. Well done to all involved.

I competed at the Brownlee Tri back in 2013 & 2014 and marshalled in 2015. In 2016 I returned to competing and loved the day. 

The organisation was superb again. A warm friendly welcome at registration, well organised transition area and an excellent pre swim briefing.

The lake is shallow, murky and a bit cold but I don't like swimming anyway so easy to complain. Many safety boats and canoes on hand in the water and the in/out pontoons were great.

The bike route is challenging with hills and sharp bends, but very scenic and enjoyable. It is well marshalled with visable medical care in attendance, just in case.

The off-road/trail run route is again very scenic but this is yorkshire! Last time I did the run route it was very challenging but they changed the route in 2015 and I have to say it is a great improvement. 

The finishline is special as you run back into the entertainment village past spectators and, family and friends. The P.A. Announcer, for me was brilliant, as I crossed the line he basically ran off my life biography!

Although the entry price is reasonably high you can see where the money goes, to create an excellent quaity event.

This year my wife and son came with me. My 6 year old son did the Kids Duathlon, which was also well organised with friendly enthusiastic staff. Plus it's free!

I got to met the Brownlee brothers after my race and again meeting them was very inspirational and they are very humble lads.

Overall a great family day out with a well organised triathlon with fantastic marshals. Highly recommened for both first timers and experienced triathletes.

I entered this race as I've been having some issues with open water swimming and I wanted to get another OW race in before the end of the year. I'd originally been put off by the cost of entry. However, I'm very glad I entered as this is a lovely race and I'll be back next year. The swim is a bit murky but lots of safety canoes and not very deep. They also split my wave into 2 so there was loads of space in the water which is great if you are nervous. Got to meet the Brownlees at the start too which was pretty cool! 

The bike was four laps for the sprint distance and was quite testing. There were some very tight technical turns and a fair amount of climbing... So practice your steep hills! Finally, the run was also a bit lumpy- it was a trail run really- very nice to look at though, but hard after the lumpy bike ride! 

The whole day was very slick in terms of organisation and there was plenty for spectators to do and look at in the race village / stunning grounds at Harewood. Got a nice medal and tech tee which is where some of the entry fee went. 

Will be back next year :) 

I was given the opportunity to form a relay team by Sheffield hospitals charity and got supplied with a HUUB trisuit and some better you goodies. Sarah was doing the swim, Carolyn the bike and myself the run. It was such a great experience and managed to have a chat with Alastair before I had to run. Was great to meet them both afterwards too.

i have done the Brownlee Tri twice, once here at Harewood House and also on its first year when it was at Bolton Abbey. This is the review for Harewood House. Firstly stunning scenery. Having the house in the background and so much greenery it is easy to enjoy this Tri. A warning for the swim, when I did it the lake was black with silt. Just something to get used to as the swim itself is really nice and enjoyable. The hardest bit of this Tri was the run with the bike to the top of the hill to get to the mount line. Makes you a bit tired when getting on the bike itself but after that is a hilly but pretty bike route. An off road run finishes the Tri and the big bonus of this race, the opportunity to meet the Brownlee Brothers.i got to chat to both of them before the start and they pick the course themselves. It's a great race in beautiful Yorkshire and one worth doing.

After the 2012 olympics the Brownlee brothers became great inspiration for me. I wanted to get fit and try a different sport. The 1st Brownlee Tri was set at Fountains Abbey a place I worked and got married at, so very special. The set up was very professional and easy to understand for a novice. A scenic course, great Marshalls and well organised. A special day with many fond memories.
