One to avoid unfortunately. This is not a cheap race, I have paid less for much better events. Was £35 + Booking fee and you don't even get a medal for finishing, as that was an extra £3. Terrible organisation, very poor water stations, on the half marathon route there was one about 2-3K in and then not another one until 1K before the end, so they were both completely pointless. The route was not clear, so only relied on watch GPS. The course was nice and challenging but that is all that this race is - a course! There is very little in the way of support (pointless water station locations), no real marshals on the course, no real medical support If needed. It also stared 25 mins late, there was some guy that spoke very quietly and no one could hear him for the briefing and then off you went. No hype or fun about it. For the price of this race I was expecting some proper marshals, support, water stations and a medal included. I have run other events that are cheaper and have included all of these things. Unfortunately it is over 2 weeks post the race and still no results posted as well, so what is the point of this? I love to partake in events, and also love companies that take pride in their events. Unfortunately this is just not one of them. I would save your money and go and no another event as I would never return to do this one again unfortunately.

This is the worst organised run I have ever attended. No registration, just collect numbers off a table, no build up to the start of the race, just some guy talking then all of a sudden it started but no one could hear him, course REALLY poorly marked which led people to go wrong the organisers gave out GPS but you don't pay for a race to follow a GPS. The single water stand for the 10km was located at 9km but the people on it thought they were at the 4-5km point, only one medical vehicle and not a single marshal along the route apart from at the very end. An underwhelming finish only medals to those who paid for them. The results still haven't come out A WEEK LATER so having seen previous years don't have results it seems the literal most important thing for a race they have failed. Poor route, poor safety, expensive, no results a company that is simply there to profit with 0 care about the individuals doing the races. This is certainly one to avoid! Would have been better off doing a local park run!

This was a challenging, scenic half marathon route which was thoroughly enjoyable despite the extreme heat. The start was a bit confused and delayed; once we got underway the run was great. I had downloaded the gpx route, which was clear and the half marathon course markings were fine (though I mainly relied on my garmin). Everyone was friendly and there was nice comradery between runners. I would have appreciated one additional water station given the hot weather, but overall I really enjoyed the event.

Poorly organised event. The route has amazing views on challenging terrain but the race itself was a massive disappointment. The 3 or 4 marshals stayed close to the finish line instead of being out at the complicated intersections. The course was incorrectly signed after about 2k, telling 10k runners to go through a gate straight ahead, following the half marathon route, when the correct route was a left turn - this caused most runners to go wrong and add up to 5k of accidental distance (we fortunately 'only' added about 1200m and 100m of elevation gain, then a 5 min stop to work out how to get back - others were not so lucky and far more annoyed). The route released from the previous event was only 9.4k so a small sign posted detour was not unlikely - probably why most followed it initially. Self-collection bibs and a 30 second whispered briefing felt lazy for a £25 entry fee. I've heard this race used to be excellent, but it has heavily declined - probably why there were so few entries. The free local parkrun here is way better organised and you still get the views, hills and cafe/bar. Avoid.

I haven't run in an event for over two years now following some health that I am now finally putting behind me. I thought I'd pick a nice little trail to return to. Wow what a choice the scenery was incredible, the hills were relentless, the sun was beating down on my bald bonce, every step was a winner. At the end my running buddy was there with a cuppa. He asked how it went "I replied it was really tough mate it really hurt" He replied are you doing it next year "absolutely bring it on". I can't wait,keep up the great work and see you next year.

Appreciate the event route was sabotaged, but I think this could have been avoided if there were better markers and more volunteers on the route. Just some red ribbon in places to denote where to go is not enough - large printed arrows are featured on many other organised routes. I don't think there were enough volunteers on the course either. Also the lack of water stations due to 'eco' reasons isn't great.

Event seemed very poorly organised with signs either non-existent or unclear for basic things like registration, toilets, start line. Even the course wasn't signposted (or had human markers) so we were reliant on the people at the front knowing where to go based on vague directions given at the start of the course so everyone got lost. No speakers so those at the back couldn't hear and everyone was confused. It was pouring with rain and given it was the children's race, they were militant about not letting the kids under the small amount of cover there was and wouldn't give out medals until the end so they were all stood in the wet and cold for about 10 minutes which seemed callous. Staff clearly hadn't been briefed properly about what was happening and it came across as unprofessional and capitalising on the success of other, better organised events. Would not recommend and will not be returning.
