Appreciate the event route was sabotaged, but I think this could have been avoided if there were better markers and more volunteers on the route. Just some red ribbon in places to denote where to go is not enough - large printed arrows are featured on many other organised routes...

Just some red ribbon in places to denote where to go is not enough - large printed arrows are featured on many other organised routes. I don't think there were enough volunteers on the course either. Also the lack of water stations due to 'eco' reasons isn't great.

Event seemed very poorly organised with signs either non-existent or unclear for basic things like registration, toilets, start line. Even the course wasn't signposted (or had human markers) so we were reliant on the people at the front knowing where to go based on vague directio...

Event seemed very poorly organised with signs either non-existent or unclear for basic things like registration, toilets, start line. Even the course wasn't signposted (or had human markers) so we were reliant on the people at the front knowing where to go based on vague directions given at the start of the course so everyone got lost. No speakers so those at the back couldn't hear and everyone was confused. It was pouring with rain and given it was the children's race, they were militant about not letting the kids under the small amount of cover there was and wouldn't give out medals until the end so they were all stood in the wet and cold for about 10 minutes which seemed callous. Staff clearly hadn't been briefed properly about what was happening and it came across as unprofessional and capitalising on the success of other, better organised events. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Hi Emma, we also had a marquee where we kept additional medals and most definitely have children in mind ( as well as parents) when we put on the children's races! That said, we are looking at using a compere for future races, who can keep runners updated. We strongly advise people to upload a GPX on to their phone especially for the longer races, as a safety net and advise this on our website and in pre race briefings.

I have been to a large number and wide range of running events over recent years, as a runner and a supporter. Things were generally ok before the race yesterday, albeit the race briefing was difficult to hear and rather adhoc. The feed stations were too few in number for the half marathon and the distance between the first and the second was too great. There was very little at the end. And finally, the post race comms have included links to results that are not yet available or site '404'. I appreciate that there was no electronic results gathering but it shouldn't take this long to learn of the final results. Hope this feedback is received as helpful and constructive.

This was my first event with Wild Running and I really enjoyed it. It was a friendly and supportive race and felt regardless of speed everyone was looking out for each other. There were a couple of markers missing and some points where it wasn't clear where to go but there were usually others around to help and it was part of the camaraderie of the race that everyone helped each other. I really enjoyed the race and will be looking for other Wild Running races.
