My first running of this race and did it as a pacer. Had originally entered a half marathon on this date but agreed to pace. Really enjoyed the run - well organised, great support, fantastic marshalling and lovely route - the inclines provided an additional challenge but were nothing to fear. Overall a lovely event. made such a change from a big half marathon and definitely would do it again!

The Breakfast Run Loseley was organised by AAT. That means guarenteed well organised races, with great marshals and fab medals. The locations such as Loseley are superb.

Second year that I did this run, and everything seemed to go very smoothly. Personally i’d Love to see another water station, perhaps in Compton, but I should also praise the organisers for having scones and cream at the end - I shall forgive them for not having jam on top though!

Organised by local Surrey outfit AAT Events, the Breakfast Run Loseley is set in the beautiful Loseley House Park, just a few minutes drive south of Guildford.
Despite the short and somewhat unique distance, this is a challenging course with a seemingly endless and punishing up hill climb for the first 3 miles. Fortunately, what goes up must come down and miles 4 to 5 are a punctuated by speedy down hill chicanes which lead to a short trail section back to the finish in Loseley Park.
You are rewarded for your Herculean hiking efforts with a spectacular panorama of the Surrey Hills, which is worth the entry fee for this alone.
Pros
This race has the vibe of a small independent race, with friendly marshalls and race officials. Loseley House and Park is a destination in itself. Race number collection and bag drop were all quick and simple. There appeared to be a large queue for the 10 or so portaloos but I didn’t use them so I can’t really comment on this.
The medal is of very good quality given its only £15 to enter, quirky offerings always on a breakfast theme. This year’s design was jam on toast.
Race photos are free but I only saw four pictures available on the website.
The advent of scones at the finish was a lovely touch.
Cons
None really. There were a some sections that were on roads open to traffic with no marshalls, but with some collective common sense from runners and keeping to one side this wasn’t a problem.

This was the second year for the Breakfast Run. Using the famous Hogs Back Road Race course, it is always a nice event, and having it in the early summer means it wasn't freezing cold. I chose to run the first half of the race very conservatively (uphill), and the second half quite quickly (mostly downhill).
As it's only a shortish race, only having one water station is fine, and there seemed like there was plenty of water to go round. Plastic cups again though - not so good.
The finish area was very well spectated and there were enough people cheering and clapping to make you feel like you were finishing a much bigger race. The medals are superb and the added excitement of a treasure hunt around the event village made for a fun morning.
