Stunning country course with the perfect amount of hills, lots. Great team supporting the runners at the start and finish, with loads of cheering marshals along the way too. Highly recommended and would do it again.

I really enjoyed this event. I did the half marathon and it was a beautiful, well marked out course with friendly people and a good atmosphere. Plenty of hills but I was expecting that and they added to the challenge. The only minor improvement could have been one more water station between the 1st and 2nd as it was a hot day.

I am a newbie to running and this was my first organised race. You can imagine how nervous I was as I attended alone and had to navigate the etiquette of a running event without a team around me. Everyone went out of their way to ensure I understood what was going on, where I needed to be, and showed huge encouragement for my first time. I was very familiar with the course (this is my home turf) and I felt the way everything was laid out worked perfectly. Potential bottleneck to the course came at points after which different skills of runners had split ahead, so there was no worry about having to remain behind somebody during a narrow pass. The Bradenham and Naphill Woods are so beautiful and so varied. There was so much nature to take your mind off the required effort to get up the hills! I’m really grateful to the organisers and fellow competitors for helping me feel like I belonged amidst the running community. I will definitely compete/run-for-love here again because of the attention to detail and care of the competitors.

This is a beautiful trail run with a lovely race village, including coffee and cakes from the local team and a massage area too! Medals and trophies are made from the local trees blown down in the storms, and it has a really friendly vibe. This year the men's team prize was taken by a Stag group all running in antlers! You do want to take photos on the way around, as the views are stunning - although some proper training in advance will help with speed!
