Overall a good tri to attend. Only real disappointment was after finishing the event at 4:15 we were told to get our bikes out of transition as the venue was closing and felt a-bit like right you are done know it’s time to leave. All felt a bit rushed. Maybe change the wave times or something? . Like I said good event and would recommend it, just make sure you book an earlier wave time to really enjoy the event.

This year was the 3rd time I participated with my husband. The location is great, everything is super well organised and everyone helpfull & friendly. The site is beautiful, parking easy, Marshalls everywhere. There are a lot of participants but not overcrowded. Be aware, the lake is (obviously) at the bottom of a hill....and the way back to your station is rather long and steep but it's part of the fun! Results came back super fast. I can't say anything bad about it.

Well it is lovely and beautiful and sure is unique. I am glad I did it but really fell flat on the pre race information and customer service. They believe the online portal allows one to change various things including transferring entry … it doesn’t do any of that. For no reason they post out the race packs and I requested over a month in advance to change my address which they said they’d do… they didn’t; so it went to the wrong address. They essentially forced my fiancé to compete with a broken hand in recovery because they were being rude and unkind about transferring to next years event and to another participant for this year. Now… it was unique and beautiful and those issues can be considered insignificant … the big BUT for me … it’s a trail hill climb/slide run … I had the wrong shoes not knowing this. You need trail shoes with immense grip and stability for this race!!! They set the run to go via various sights which is nice but they neglected safety in this process … at the waterfall cliff climb there’s no one to pick up those who may have fallen and you could certainly break a leg there … or smash your face in. Further down is a steep downhill on loose gravel … again high risk and no Marshalls there. Also it wasn’t stated that there is a 400m slippery grass run up hill from the swim to transition. Oh and despite knowing how many competitors you had you didn’t have enough of this years medals so being at the end I got a basic one from last year which rather sucked. Will not be repeating this event. It has potential but too much needs to be sorted!
